"The desire to confront those who offend"

While the terminology poses an aggressive insinuation, vengeance is essentially a measure of how comfortable one feels with confrontation. This value of confrontation is not inherently rooted in anger however; a key dimension of vengeance is competitiveness (whether in sport, business, or even sibling-rivalry). Much like power which drives one to achieve, vengeance drives one to assert themselves.

As stated repeatedly, none of the 16 values are negative or positive; they are only dimensions of our personality that motivate us uniquely. All have their benefits; all have their shortcomings; vengeance is no exception. It can be the motivator that helps business owners fight their way to the top, the drive that pushes athletes to excel, and the spark between siblings to constantly achieve (over the other). It can however, also foster feelings of anger & aggression if not provided an appropriate outlet to exercise itself.

A strong desire for tranquility is effectively a significant desire to avoid anxiety & pain. While the majority of people try to avoid anxiety & pain when they can, people high in tranquility differ on the basis of how far they go to avoid them. What distinguishes people with high tranquility is that they aren't necessarily afraid of the *circumstances* (e.g. heights, blood, insects, etc.) that anxiety/stress would stem from , but rather they're afraid of experiencing the *anxiety/stress* itself. At a base level, a person's desire for tranquility can be gauged by how harmful they believe that anxiety & stress are. Given their intrinsic aversion to anxiety, people high in tranquility tend to be be excellent at creating safe spaces for others.

A desire for status encompasses a desire for the benefits that status brings (attention, prestige, respect, influence, etc.). Like saving, status is another value that is especially beneficial in the corporate world, because it provides people with the motivation & ambition to 'climb to the top'.

Human beings are social creatures; we all require some level of social interaction in order to survive, grow, & feel happiness. People who are high in social contact require it to fulfill these 3 needs to a significant extent. A key source of happiness for people high in social contact is social interaction; more so than other outlets. While many pursue social contact for the purposes of prestige (status), or success (power), the basic desire for social contact is seen only when it is sought after for the sole reason of enjoying being with other people.

People who are high in saving may exhibit difficulty in letting go of things in their lives, but experience a significant level of satisfaction from keeping what they treasure close. This value proves to be especially suited for the corporate world as nearly every industry requires people high in saving (in specific roles such as auditing, accountants, CFO's, etc.), in order to sustain themselves & grow.
