LATAM Trading and Logistics Expands Its Logistics Services Across the Middle East
16 July 2026

LATAM Trading and Logistics continues to build out its network of multimodal transport solutions, now covering Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the UAE, Qatar and Iraq, as part of a broader strategy to strengthen connectivity between regional markets and give customers greater flexibility in managing their supply chains.

The company, registered in the UAE as a free zone entity, operates through a wide network of agents spread across the Middle East, North, West and East Africa, alongside its long-established offices in Latin America built up over many years of experience. This geographic reach allows it to offer an integrated service spanning three continents — from customs clearance to storage and inspection, and through to land transport and inland bridge connections between ports.

On the land transport side specifically, it should be noted that the following applies only to landside services, and that all services mentioned remain subject to availability and to the regulations in force in each country.

For exports, the company offers land bridge solutions departing from Upper Gulf ports — Dammam, Jubail, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Oman — via Jeddah port, while shipments from Iraq are handled via Aqaba port. For the UAE, there is an additional route connecting it to the rest of the world via the ports of Sohar, Salalah and Jeddah.

On the import side, domestic services include transport from Jeddah port to Riyadh and Dammam, from the ports of Khor Fakkan, Fujairah, Jebel Ali and Abu Dhabi to the rest of the UAE, as well as inland routes from Salalah covering various parts of Oman. Import land bridge solutions connect Jeddah with Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and Oman, while Khor Fakkan and Fujairah connect to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar, and Salalah and Sohar connect to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar.

Subject to capacity availability, these routes accept both dry and frozen cargo.

LATAM Trading and Logistics' services don't stop at transport. Through its regional agent network, the company also offers all types of customs clearance, along with flexible storage solutions tailored to the needs of different sectors, and comprehensive cargo inspection services to verify the safety and compliance of goods before their journey continues.

The company reaffirms its ongoing commitment to providing flexible, reliable logistics solutions that support customers in efficiently managing their supply chains across the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

# E15 Isn't a Fuel Story for Us — It's a Feed-Cost Story

If your business buys corn and soybean meal to feed cattle, poultry, or any protein program, a fuel policy decision in Washington has just moved your two largest input costs in opposite directions. That is worth a few minutes of attention.

Year-round approval of E15 is being discussed almost entirely as an ethanol and gasoline issue. For those of us in food, livestock, and cattle feed, it is really a ration-cost issue — one that affects the two core ingredients on our feed sheets in very different ways.

# # Why It Shows Up on Your Feed Bill

E15 is gasoline blended with 15% ethanol rather than the standard 10%. Greater E15 sales at the pump translate into greater ethanol demand, and ethanol competes directly with feed for the same bushel of corn. As more corn is drawn toward ethanol production, the corn balance sheet tightens — and that tends to push corn, the energy component of your ration, higher.

Soybeans tend to move in the opposite direction. As ethanol policy gains ground, it can crowd out demand for biomass-based diesel, which relies heavily on soybean oil. Weaker biodiesel demand softens crush margins, which in turn tends to soften soybean prices — including, to some extent, the soybean meal that supplies the protein component of most rations.

In other words, the same policy that raises your corn cost may also ease the pressure on your protein cost. That offsetting effect is what deserves real planning, not just the headline.

# # What the Numbers Actually Suggest

- Summaries of the FAPRI-MU model point to corn prices rising roughly 3 cents a bushel in the near term, drifting toward 5 cents by 2030/31 under a voluntary-adoption scenario — a modest but genuine lift in the energy cost of every ration.
- The National Corn Growers Association's own study frames the benefit more generously, closer to 15 cents a bushel under its assumptions — worth modelling at the higher end for budgeting purposes.
- On the soybean side, the same FAPRI-MU coverage points to an initial pullback of around 20 cents, widening to roughly 29 cents by 2030/31, with the softness becoming more pronounced if small-refinery exemptions further erode biodiesel demand.
- Not every model agrees on scale. A 2022 McKinsey review of a summer E15 waiver found the corn-market effect was likely small on its own, since the incremental ethanol volume is minor relative to total U.S. corn production.

The honest takeaway for a feed buyer is this: do not expect a dramatic repricing of the ration overnight. Expect a gradual tilt — corn drifting firmer, soybean meal drifting a touch softer — one that becomes clearer over a full production cycle rather than in any single week.

# # The Variable That Decides How Much This Really Matters

Everything above hinges on a single question: will E15 be adopted widely, or will it remain largely theoretical?

Retailers must invest in the pumps. Drivers must actually choose the blend. And regulators must hold the line on small-refinery exemptions rather than quietly eroding the very ethanol demand E15 was designed to create. Economists following this policy have specifically flagged that risk — exemptions blunting the benefit to corn while soybean producers absorb the downside regardless.

If adoption remains limited, this is little more than background noise for your procurement planning. If it scales meaningfully and exemptions stay contained, the pattern of firmer corn and softer soybean meal becomes something genuinely worth budgeting around.

# # What This Means for How You Buy

1. **Re-run your feed cost model with a corn-up, soymeal-flat-to-softer assumption**, rather than assuming the two move together. They are being pulled apart by the same policy, not driven by the same forces.
2. **Treat soybean meal weakness as a hedging window**. If softer biodiesel demand does compress the crush margin, that presents an opportunity to lock in protein costs ahead of any reversal.
3. **Watch pump conversions and blend sales volumes as your leading indicator** on the corn side — not the legislative headline itself. Adoption data will move ahead of price.
4. **Keep the full range of estimates in mind when budgeting** (3 to 15 cents on corn; 20 cents and wider on soybeans). The spread between models is itself a signal that your cost projections deserve a cushion, not a single-point forecast.

# # Bottom Line

For a feed or livestock operation, E15 is not primarily a fuel-market headline — it is a gradual, asymmetric shift in your two principal ration costs. Corn firmer, soybean meal likely softer, with the net effect on cost of gain depending on your specific ration mix. It is worth modelling now, well ahead of the moment adoption data forces the market to reprice all at once.

*How is your team adjusting ration budgets for this shift? I would be glad to hear your corn-to-soymeal cost assumptions for next quarter in the comments. *
