ats Sushi and Maki, while still praying for the gift of life. Let us tell you a little more about ourselves. Very new to our relationship, we were blessed with an opportunity to Dubai in 2008. It is our dream to work abroad so we can earn more to support our families back home, send our siblings to school, help our parents with the bills to improve our living condition. It also allowed us to build our careers, meet new people, and explore the world. I [Ian] work as a graphic designer in a luxury department store and Liz worked as a merchandise retail planner for jewelry, fashion, and furniture, and homeware brands. We got married in 2016 after almost 10 years of being together. We believe in God’s perfect time and it was definitely worth the wait!
[Liz] I am very thankful for my corporate job that helped make many of our dreams come true. I was able to help finance building the 3-storey dream house for my parents and siblings back home in Manila. I was able to send my siblings through university and they are all professionals in their own right.
[Ian] My job helped send our youngest sibling to college and also pay for my father’s medical bills. I am able to support my parents with their household expenses for more than 10 years and hopefully soon, to retire my mother from her tedious insurance work. Our priorities have always been our parents and our family - so we had to pause our own plans for ourselves in the meantime. But after we got married, we know that we had to start setting aside for ourselves and for our future children. We wanted to invest in something we know can help make our dreams come true faster, without the physical hassle and stress of running a traditional business. We wanted to spend more time for each other so we can start our own family. Year 2020 - we all know what is happening. Economies crashing. Businesses folding. Flights grounded. People forced to stay at home and work remotely. This is when we finally had the chance to look into the business opportunity we were introduced into in Oct 2019. We watched the webinar, did our research, prayed for it and decided to go for it in July. We know there is more to life than just being employees and doing the standard 9-5. We want to manage our own time, be our own boss, live our lives the way we want, while also building a stable and financially-secure future for ourselves and our families so we can retire early. We want to continue inspiring more people and help others make their dreams come true faster, too! We are even more thankful that we were able to set our digital business up just before Liz was made redundant in her well-paying job. It truly made her less anxious and worried about the future. God works in mysterious way! We will remember 2020 not as the year of the pandemic, but the year that we have taken a simple but meaningful step towards propelling our lives in the direction of our dreams.
