अथकारकांशे ग्रहस्थित्यादिना फलानि विवेचयति सूत्रैः
तत्र रवौ राजकार्यपरः
कारकांशे सूर्ये सति जातकवदाद्यपुमान् राजकार्यतत्परो भवति।
पूर्णेंदुशुक्रयोर्भोगी विद्याजीवी च
कारकांशे एव पूर्णेंदुशुक्रयोः सतोर्भोगी स्यात् विद्याजीवी च स्यात्।
धातुवादीकौंतायुधो वह्निजीवी च भौमे
कारकांशे भौमे सति रसवादी कुंतधरः वह्निकृतजीवनवांश्च स्यात्।
वणिजस्तंतुवाद्याः शिल्पिनो व्यवहारविदश्च सौम्ये
कारकांशे बुधे सति जातकवदाद्या वणिक्प्रभृतयो भवंति।
कर्मज्ञाननिष्ठा वेदविदश्च जीवे
कारकांशे गुरौ सति कर्मनिष्ठादयो भवंति।
राजकीयाः कामिनः शतेंद्रियाश्च शुक्रे
कारकांशे शुक्रे सति राजकीयादयो भवंति। शतेंद्रियाः शतवर्षजीविन इत्यर्थः।
प्रसिद्धकर्मा जीवः शनौ
कारकांशे शनौ सति लोकप्रसिद्धेन महता कर्मणा जीवेदित्यर्थः।
धानुष्काश्चौराश्च जांगलिका लोहयंत्रिणश्च राहौ
कारकांशे राहौ सति धानुष्कादयो भवंति।
गजव्यवहारिणश्चौराश्च केतौ
कारकांशे केताविदं फलं।
Now through the next sutras Jaimini indicates the results of the placement of planets in the karakansha
तत्र रवौ राजकार्यपरः
If Sun is placed in the karakansha then the native, if a male, is devoted to duties related to the kingdom. (This can be interpreted as governmental duties in the modern context).
पूर्णेंदुशुक्रयोर्भोगी विद्याजीवी च
If full moon and Venus are placed in the karaksnahs then the native indulges in enjoyment of material luxuries and earns through his knoweldge.
धातुवादीकौंतायुधो वह्निजीवी च भौमे
If Mars is placed in the karakansha then the native becomes an alchemist, holds a spear as a weapon and his livelihood is related to fire.
वणिजस्तंतुवाद्याः शिल्पिनो व्यवहारविदश्च सौम्ये
If Mercury is in the karakansha then the native becomes a merchant etc (that is merchant, player of a stringed instrument, artisan or a lawyer.
कर्मज्ञाननिष्ठा वेदविदश्च जीवे
If Jupiter is placed in the karakansha then the native is firm in his duties etc.
राजकीयाः कामिनः शतेंद्रियाश्च शुक्रे
If Venus is placed in the karakansha then the native performs royal duties etc (that is is amorous and lives for a hundred years as well). shatindriya means lives for a hundred years.
प्रसिद्धकर्मा जीवः शनौ
If Saturn is placed in the karakansha then the native performs a great and famous deed in his life.
धानुष्काश्चौराश्च जांगलिका लोहयंत्रिणश्च राहौ
If Rahu is placed in the karakansha then the native is an archerer etc (that is an archerer, a thief, a snake-charmer or an ironsmith)
गजव्यवहारिणश्चौराश्च केतौ
(If Ketu is in the karaksnahs then the native deals in sale and purchase of elephants or is a thief). This is the result of Ketu in the karakansha.
