Make & Take | Emirati Women’s Day 🇦🇪✨

Celebrate Emirati Women’s Day at the Coins Museum with a hands-on heritage workshop inspired by traditional Gulf bridal adornment.

Create your own necklace, bracelet or keyring using replica coins, pearls, beads and traditional threads while discovering the stories of heritage, identity and adornment behind them.

We are proud to deliver another engaging summer camp experience that brings Dubai’s rich trading heritage to life for the next generation.

The 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗗𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 brought together young learners for a week of hands-on discovery.

From designing traditional dhow boats and inspecting trading cargo to exploring valuable trade materials such as cotton and mangrove wood, participants immersed themselves in interactive challenges that fostered creativity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation of Dubai’s cultural heritage.

With even more exciting adventures and hands-on learning experiences ahead, Week 2 promises to be another unforgettable journey.

Visitors of all ages enjoyed a series of hands-on workshops and guided tours at Al Shindagha Museum. Participants explored traditional Emirati cooking, discovered the art and ingredients of Emirati perfumery, created their own Talli embroidered bracelets and charms, and experienced traditional pottery making while exploring the museum’s diverse heritage houses with our cultural guides.

The programme attracted strong community participation and reinforced the museum’s role as a vibrant cultural destination, bringing together families, youth, and cultural enthusiasts through engaging heritage experiences.

A day of discovery, learning, and cultural exploration at 𝗔𝗹 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗴𝗵𝗮 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘂𝗺! Students from 𝙂𝙪𝙡𝙛 𝙈𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 and 𝘼𝙢𝙗𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙖𝙙𝙤𝙧 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 enjoyed an immersive journey through the museum’s heritage houses, guided by our Cultural Guides. Along the way, they uncovered fascinating stories of the UAE’s history, traditions, and way of life, creating meaningful connections with the nation’s rich cultural heritage.

Earlier last month, museums across the UAE opened their doors for International Museum Day, with Abu Dhabi’s flagship institutions, Zayed National Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Natural History Museum, teamLab Phenomena, offering free entry from May 16 to 18. Turnout was, by every public account, considerable.

It was a useful snapshot of where the sector now sits. Zayed National Museum, open less than a year, has already landed on TIME’s 100 World’s Greatest Places 2026 list and been named by Prix Versailles among the world’s seven most beautiful museums. Saadiyat Cultural District is fast becoming one of the most concentrated cultural precincts anywhere. And in Dubai, Al Fahidi Fort is preparing to reopen later this year as the next chapter of the emirate’s heritage story.

UAE cultural infrastructure is no longer in build mode. It is in operations mode, and operations is where the next phase of the sector will be won or lost.

As part of Talents UAE’s outreach programme for Al Shindagha Museum, the team spent an engaging and memorable day with the Dubai Health Authority team - Al Rashidiya Centre, exploring the art of traditional Emirati jewellery making and creating handcrafted souvenirs to take home. ✨

Families and visitors came together at Al Shindagha Museum to celebrate Eid Al Adha through a joyful series of cultural workshops and interactive experiences. From the exciting Eidiya Trail to embroidery on prints, creating personalised Eidiya pouches to take home, designing Thoub Al Eid, and many more hands-on activities, the museum was filled with creativity, learning, and festive spirit.
