So ladies, tomorrow we will all say good bye to this year. I don't know about you, but I am really looking forward to the new, 2018 year, which I am entering with my new resolutions, new dreams, new goals, new hopes, and I am going to celebrate it tomorrow! Surely we will all celebrate a coming of a new year tomorrow, and regardless of where we will be celebrating it, we all want to look beautiful! So I would like to give you some tips which hopefully will help you to achieve that! Keep reading!
What is the first thing that comes to mind, when you think about make-up? Most of us would say beauty and they will be right – but beauty, as the old saying goes, is in the eyes of the beholder. There are thousands of styles and colors that suit a particular type of faces and personalities, and if you want to enhance your natural beauty, you need to select the right one!
The first thing you need to take into account are the right colors.
In general, there are 4 types of color combinations, according to skin complexion, hair and eyes, but for the sake of simplicity, we’ll go with as few as 2.
If you have a golden or medium fair skin, golden, brown, red or strawberry blond hair, as well as hazel or dark eyes, you’re a Warm type. Not sure what counts as a warm type? Think Nicole Kidman or Kathie Lee Gifford.
If your skin is darker, your hair is dark, black or blonde, and your eyes are blue, green or grey, you’re a Cool type (again, cool types are Catherine Zeta Jones and Oprah, for instance).
Once you know your type, you can select your make-up colors with confidence. Choose warm colors (peachy pink, golden, deep brown, turquoise) for warm type, and cool colors (baby blue, purplish pink) to complement the cool skin types. They’ll naturally enhance your features and make you look healthy and sparkling without too much effort.
To get every colour perfect the makeup counter, you need the personal colour palette or swatch book.
Most of us find eyeshadow the most difficult. Using descriptors like earthy, heavy, dense, opaque to distinguish browns doesn’t help a whole lot when you’re standing at the counter. Colour is always relative. Standing at the cosmetics counter trying to match a dot in a book will be an exercise in discouragement. Smear the makeup on a piece of white paper, and smear a bunch of similar colours next to it. Even if the colours aren’t that close, it doesn’t matter. Your eye will use the range and position every colour more accurately. With clothing, if you’re choosing for example, a blue dress, collect several blue items, any shade of blue, and line them up. That’s when you’ll pick out the cool blue, the muted blue, etc.
With these tips in mind, you can now go to selecting the make-up products you’ll need. I won’t tell you to buy a particular brand but rather focus on what you’re looking to achieve. Are you more of a tomboyish girl and prefer the au natural look? Or perhaps you’ve set your eyes on the newest trends and want to boldly stand out from the crowd? Think about your personality and who you are, not just what you like. Extroverts, for instance, look great in bright and shiny colors (just make sure to choose the right one for your eye and skin color). Introverts, on the other hand, look and feel best in calmer, cooler colors, such as neutral browns or pale greens and blues.
If you’re a “natural” personality, it’s best to go with a minimalist make-up. Enhance your natural beauty and even your complexion with a brush-on foundation, add mascara and a neutral and clear lip gloss.
If you’re looking for a more feminine look, stick with monochromatic pastels. They’ll complement your features and add a soft, romantic touch to your appearance.
For a bolder and more dramatic look, you can combine eyeliner and mascara with a bright red lipstick.
The important thing is not to blindly follow the trends but to create a look that will reflect on your true personality. The beauty is feeling and looking great, so don’t overdo on the make-up, if that makes you feel uncomfortable.
Of course, it’s also a good idea to match your make-up style to the occasion. For a quiet afternoon with your girlfriends, go with a natural look (soft shades, pale lipstick and little mascara). For a day in the office, you can start with a spotless matte foundation and powder, and then add a discrete eyeliner on the upper eyelids. Reds and pinks look great with this sophisticated look! If you’re going out tomorrow and want to be in the spotlight, go for a glamorous look: smoke eyes, black glitter on the lower lashes, and add a rosy color to your cheeks.
The most important thing about make-up is that it’s unique and should reflect who you are and how you feel. Match your make-up to your personality and mood of the day for a glamorous and spotless look!
