A glimpse of today

Today’s visit to The Big Five opened my eyes even further to how global perspectives shape the future of construction and sustainable materials. One thing stood out clearly, Germans and Italians truly love innovation.

Their approach is precise, bold, and deeply respectful of local materials, proving that the world is moving toward region-based value creation and circular solutions.

The exhibition itself was vibrant, enriched with significant participation from our neighbouring countries, each bringing unique technologies, raw materials, and ideas that inspire new possibilities for Sri Lanka as well.

Here are a few highlights from Day 2:
• Strong European presence with a deep focus on sustainable engineering
• Innovative material technologies that align with waste-to-value concepts
• Regional exhibitors showcasing practical solutions fit for Asian markets
• A refreshing global mindset toward circular economy and resource efficiency

FROM INNOVATION TO IMPACT: A MILESTONE MOMENT

I’m delighted to announce that my company CeylonBackyard (Pvt) Ltd has been appointed as the Consultant – Commercialization & Strategic Partnerships to Kohu Kreations Pvt Ltd for the launch of the world’s first construction safety helmet made from 100% natural fiber.

This achievement is especially meaningful to me, as I personally spent over five years developing this helmet long before my company was established.

Seeing this innovation now reach the commercialization stage is a proud milestone.

The helmet has successfully received the BS EN 397:2012 standard certification and is now ready to move into global markets.
