Starlink is now a licensed UAE operator.
TDRA issued a ten year licence on 28 August 2026 to Starlink Satellite Communications LLC. It covers a public satellite network and broadband sold to households, businesses, government, maritime and aviation, under the same regulator as e& and du.
Residential runs AED 230 to AED 300 a month, with hardware from AED 1,099. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are currently showing at capacity, so new orders join a waitlist.
The real value is coverage, not speed. Offshore vessels, desert sites, temporary project locations, a new office still waiting on a fibre date. Places the ground network does not reach.
What it does not solve is structure. Jurisdiction, licence activity, visa quota, banking, and who handles the file after the licence is issued.

Your licence is issued. That is when the clock starts.

Corporate tax registration is due three months from incorporation, not from your first invoice. The return lands nine months after year end. Beneficial ownership is 60 days. Miss the first one and it is AED 10,000 before you have earned anything.

Fifteen slides on what a UAE company actually owes after formation, with the deadline and the fine attached to each.

Two of these changed in 2026. Small Business Relief now runs to 2029, and Economic Substance reporting quietly ended for years closing after 2022. If your checklist still lists ESR, it is out of date.
