NO MORE UAE VISA STAMPING ON PASSPORTS

UAE: Emirates ID to replace residency visas in passports from April 11, 2022

Expatriates in the UAE will soon no longer require residency visas to be stamped on their passports.

This will be applicable for residency documents issued after April 11.

A report in Al Khaleej quoted a circular issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security as saying that residents' Emirates ID would count as their residency. The ID contains all relevant residency-related information.

Airlines will be able to verify residency through residents' Emirates ID and passport number.

The move aims to upgrade the services offered to the people in the country and is based on a Cabinet resolution issued earlier this year.

Residency visa is a sticker stamped on to expatriates' passports after they undergo a medical test. It's issued for two-, three-, five or 10-year periods, depending on the visa a resident has.

UAE to resume issuing of tourist visas for vaccinated people from all countries

The UAE will resume issuing tourist visas for fully vaccinated people from all countries as of August 30, 2021, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) jointly announced on Saturday.

Validity of expired TOURIST/VISIT VISAS extended for one month starting from 11 August 2020.

STUCK OUTSIDE UAE FOR MORE THAN 180 DAYS

UAE Government urged people who are stuck outside the Country for more than 180 days with valid Residence Visas to fly back to Country ASAP subject to UAE bound Flights resumption To & From their departure Country.

However, they must fulfill & agree the below requirements before they plan to flyout.

• Adhere to all official measures and requirements established by the Dubai Government and other countries before traveling and after returning to Dubai.
• Disclose any symptoms before traveling by filling in the form provided by airlines.
• Ensure you have international health insurance coverage before traveling.
• Citizens must notify UAE embassies if they are infected with COVID-19 while they are abroad.
• Residents and tourists will bear the costs of examination and treatment abroad, in the event they are infected with COVID-19.
• Take precautionary measures and self-monitor for any symptoms of COVID19

UAE exempts expired residency visa holders from fines.

Dubai: The UAE Cabinet on Sunday approved a decision exempting holders of expired residency visas from fines until the end of the year.
