🚨 Latest Updates on Afghan Immigration to the United States 🇺🇸
🛂 Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) Updates:
✅ Afghan SIV Program is ACTIVE!
✅ Total SIVs allocated since 2009: 50,500
✅ SIV case transfers to consulates: Ongoing
✅ Interviews at embassies & consulates: Currently happening!
✅ SIV visas are being issued – Afghans can travel & enter the U.S. ✈️
✅ Deadline for Chief of Mission (COM) approval applications: December 31, 2025
❌ The proposal to add 20,000 more SIVs (increasing the total to 70,500) has been REMOVED from the bill!
❌ The proposed deadline extension for SIV applications until December 31, 2027 has also been REMOVED!
👨👩👧👦 Family Reunification Updates:
✅ Family Reunification Programs – ACTIVE!
✅ U.S. citizens can reunite with their spouses and children under 21 through family reunification.
✅ U.S. passport holders can sponsor parents, but delays may occur, especially for Afghan applicants.
❌ Family reunification for Asylees and Parolees is currently SUSPENDED!
✈️ CARE Services updates:
✅ CARE Services – ACTIVE!
✅ Medical, Biometrics, and Third-Country Visa Support are operational!
❌ CARE Flights – Suspended!
✅ Advocacy groups and Congress are pushing to continue CARE Flights.
🏠 Resettlement Services Updates:
❌ Resettlement agency contracts – Canceled!
❌ Refugee benefits & resettlement services – Suspended!
❌ IOM services, including ticket bookings – NOT ACTIVE!
✅ Advocacy groups are actively pushing for the resumption of resettlement services.
📝 Asylum Application:
✅ Asylum remains an option for Afghans physically present in the U.S.
✅ Please note: The asylum process may now take longer compared to previous times.
📍 U.S. Immigration Policies for Afghan Refugees:
❌ U.S. is DEPORTING undocumented Afghan refugees! 🚔✈️
❌ Humanitarian Parole for Afghans – STOPPED! 🚫
❌ USRAP (P-1 & P-2) programs – STILL SUSPENDED! ⏳🚷
❌ The Welcome Corps Refugee Sponsorship Program has been suspended
❌ Marco Rubio, United States Secretary of State: The U.S. will NO LONGER accept groups of refugees.
💳 Green Card & Valid U.S. Visa Holders:
✅ Green Card holders may face entry denial upon arrival in the U.S.
✅ Afghans with valid U.S. visas should travel IMMEDIATELY to the U.S.
✅ Afghans with Green Cards and travel documents should avoid traveling out of the U.S.
✅ U.S. will implement strict security checks before and after visa issuance.

✅ 15,000 Afghans are stranded in Pakistan🇵🇰 waiting for U.S.🇺🇸 visas or resettlement! ✅ Congress and advocacy groups are FIGHTING to lift the suspension on USRAP and ensure Afghan allies are resettled!
