This Independence Day, I’ll be the soloist in a concert of American music with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie, conducted by Marie Jacquot. It’s my first open air concert, the SR Klassik am See in Losheim. It will be televised in Germany and will be my biggest concert yet. ⁣

Repertoire includes songs from The Sound of Music, as well as selections by Gershwin, Porter, Weill, and more. Info and tickets can be found here: ⁣

CA Klug I Artists & Management takes great pride in accompanying young singers into a career. Especially, if they are as talented as soprano Lauren Urquhart

It’s the end of my first week at the Wiener Volksoper, and I couldn’t be happier. I am so, so lucky to be working with such fantastic colleagues who are invested in helping each other grow. ⁣
⁣
Monday and Tuesday were two hectic days of rehearsals for The Sound of Music, a show I rehearsed for 3 weeks in June. I’m joining a cast who has performed this production every year for several years, and it’s a well-oiled machine. I can’t wait to debut as Liesel in October - my dates are the 4th, 9th, 19th, and 21st. ⁣

The rest of the week was filled with language coaching for my debut as Papagena in November, as well as several trips to IKEA. I’m finally settling in in Wien. Back to it again tomorrow morning!

Breaking news! Lauren Urquhart will be one of the youngest singers ever to join the ensemble of the Wiener Volksoper. The 22-year-old soprano will officially be giving her debut in one of Europe's leading opera houses in the fall of 2019. The Volksoper will present the incredibly talented singer in a large variety of roles: from Papagena to Liesl von Trapp, as well as in two premieres, including the female leading role in the European premiere of "Schoenberg in Hollywood".
