We knew Datum needed a display – but one that supports the ritual rather than distracting from it.

So instead of placing another screen on the front, we hid an LED matrix right beneath the housing. Information appears when you need it, and disappears when you don’t.

The version you see here is still part of our current prototype. For the final product, we're actually extending the display – giving us more room for information while maintaining the focus on the coffee.

One of those little ideas that has been part of Datum almost from day one – and still feels a little magical every time. ✨☕️

Public Datum Demo in Singapore! 🇸🇬☕️

This Thursday, September 17 at 5 PM, we’ll be guests at The Community Coffee for our first public Datum demo in Singapore.

We spend a lot of time engineering things you hopefully won’t have to think about. 🪐

Heating while you grind. Weighing as the coffee is ground. Tamping once you press start. All so one interaction can naturally lead into the next. ✨

There’s a lot happening in the background. And hopefully, it feels like there isn’t. ☕️

Sundays with Datum. ☕️✨

Two compact devices, designed to work as one.

Soft surfaces, simple geometry and small natural details define the objects. But what matters even more to us is the flow between them – from bean to cup, one interaction naturally follows the next, with all the complexity quietly working underneath. 🪐

Wanna try it yourself? We're preparing for takeoff, with a few new landing spots to be announced very soon. 🚀

We love experimenting with grinding and brewing parameters, but we believe you shouldn’t have to understand all of that before you can enjoy great coffee – and sometimes we simply want a great espresso ☕️✨

This duality became a central theme when developing datum: making the complexity available, rather than making it necessary.

For us, technology should quietly help you along when you need it – while leaving all the doors open once you want to explore further. 🚀

This truly turns Datum into a vehicle for exploring this wonderful universe of specialty coffee – whether you're brewing your first cup or tweaking your hundredth recipe. 🪐
