International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women (November 25)
Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we turn our attention to an issue that affects millions of women worldwide: violence in all its forms—physical, psychological, economic, or structural. This day was established to stand against these injustices and show solidarity with those affected.
Violence against women knows no boundaries of age, origin, or social status. It manifests in many ways: domestic violence, sexual assault, forced marriage, female ge***al mutilation, or human trafficking. Statistics reveal that one in three women experiences violence during her lifetime—a shocking reality that must not be tolerated.
This day is not only about raising awareness but also about taking action. It calls for identifying violence, making support services such as women’s shelters and counseling centers visible, and advocating for political measures to prevent and combat violence. At the same time, it highlights the importance of promoting equality, education, and societal respect to prevent violence in the long term.
Let us stand together and take a stand: violence against women is not a private issue but a societal problem that concerns us all. Every voice matters in encouraging survivors
