Passport theft is one of the biggest issues for travelers and for those who live abroad. There are simple tips that you should follow:
1- Always have a copy of your passport on your phone.
2- Do not take your passport with you on outings unless you absolutely have to.
3- Do not leave passports in bags or luggage in rental, cars.

The number one place passports are stolen from are rental cars. It is common sense, do not leave any bags visible in a rental car, it is the prime target for thieves. Locals know how to spot rental cars based on the different license plates used for rental cars.

So put your luggage in the trunk, and unless you absolutely have to, leave your passport at the hotel in the safe and have a copy of it on your phone.

I truly understand the simple way of life. Now that I have moved abroad outside of the United States, it's not about material things,shiny things, big things, titles, chasing the $.

It's just the simple things I now take more pleasure in than I did before, and I'm happier for it.

This is what it's like to live abroad in Nice, France. Days like this make me grateful and appreciative of my new home country. Just a snippet of what I no longer take for granted: the small moments, the walks, the eats, the views, and the friendships.

Ah August. With the heatwave it was hard to travel far but I made the best of it. From daily early morning walks to avoid the heat, rebranding the business with a new logo, starting back with my foodie recons and meeting new folks and reconnecting with family. August was a good month. I'm curious to see what September will bring. September will be my 4yr anniversary moving abroad to France!

Living abroad and worried your ballot won't make it in time? I had that issue a few years ago.

But now if you are in Marseille or close enough, you can drop it off, or if you're not, you can mail it directly to the consulate.

They will send and track it all the way until it is received.

Send this to someone you know who lives abroad who needs to cast their vote in the upcoming elections!

I had to think hard about the new logo. My last logo I've had for about 10 years now.

I had to think about what the business has become and how it has evolved. I loved my little caricature, but felt it no longer fit with what I am now offering as a business. I wanted to keep the hair and glasses because that's my signature look but I felt the cartoonish look was better when I was a whimsical baking business.

It was a hard decision to make, but I have always been someone who embraces change and actually switches up every 3 to 4 years, and it was time.
