[PEER SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE EXPERIENCING SUICIDAL THOUGHTS OR FEELINGS]: April Alt2Su Calendar has now dropped!

Please note that over the Easter long weekend we will be holding three groups online. At 2:30pm on Good Friday (April 3rd) we will have an Open Online group in place of ARC at Mile End. That night our regular LGBT Online group is still going ahead at 7:30pm, and on Easter Monday (April 6th) our regular Open Online group is still scheduled to go ahead for 7pm.

Alternatives to Su***de (Alt2Su) peer-led community-based groups centre mutual connection and meaning making around su***de distress, thoughts and experiences. They offer non-clinical spaces where people can be honest about their experiences without fear of forced treatment, other forms of coercion, or risk assessment that shuts conversation down.

Learning how to hold space for others at the Alternatives to Su***de (Alt2SU) Peer Group Facilitation training by LELAN today on day one.

Imagine a space where you can show up as your authentic self and discuss your experiences with su***de with safety, support and connection? This is it. Stigma free!!

I am grateful to be undertaking this important training and start facilitating the Alt2SU groups. The WHY questions matter more than ever as we seek to evolve beyond relying solely on managing risk.

I am already contemplating how these principles align with understanding neurodiversity, psychosocial risks and conversations surrounding su***de.
