⚰️ Do you sleep in the “coffin position”?

Before you leap out of bed and start dragging furniture around …

Take a look at your bedroom. 👀

Can you lie in bed and look straight out through the doorway with your feet pointing directly at the door?

If so, traditional Feng Shui calls this the “coffin position.”

Now before Facebook decides I’ve completely lost the plot … 😂

No, it doesn’t mean you’re cursed.
No, it doesn’t mean bad luck is coming.
And no, I’m not about to tell you to panic.

The name comes from the way a coffin was traditionally carried out of a room - feet first toward the door.

A little dramatic? Absolutely. 😳

But the reason Feng Shui pays attention to it is because the doorway is where movement and activity enter the room. When you’re directly lined up with that flow, some people find they sleep more lightly, wake more often, or simply don’t feel as settled.

Here’s where Feng Shui Grandma gets a little grumpy … 😏

Too many people take one Feng Shui rule and turn it into a scary prediction.

Real Classical Flying Star Feng Shui doesn’t work that way.

When I assess a bedroom, I’m looking at:
🧭 The location of the room
📅 When the home was built or moved into
✨ The Flying Star chart
🛏️ The bed placement
🏡 How all the energies interact together

Because the stars tell the real story.

If you can avoid sleeping with your feet directly in line with the door, wonderful.

If you can’t?

Don’t lose sleep over it. 😉

Good Feng Shui should support your life, not create fear.

💚 Now I’m curious …

Can you see your bedroom door from your bed?

✔️ Yes
✔️ No
✔️ Hold on… I’m getting up to check 😂

🌸 Thankful Thursday – The Little Things That Create Beautiful Energy 🌸

Goodness, what a lovely week it has been.

As a Classical Feng Shui consultant, I spend a lot of time looking at the energy of homes, but one thing I know for certain is this:

✨ The energy we bring into our homes matters just as much as the energy already there.

In Classical Feng Shui, there is a concept called Sheng Chi—the vibrant, uplifting, life-giving energy that helps us feel happy, inspired and connected.

The wonderful thing is that you don’t need to buy anything special to create it.

This week, I’ve found plenty of beautiful energy in the simple moments:

🌱 Pottering in the garden and getting my hands in the soil.

🚗 Enjoying a drive through the countryside and appreciating the beauty around me.

☕ Catching up with dear friends over coffee (twice this week!). Good conversation is one of life’s greatest treasures.

🌞 Waking up to blue skies when the forecast promised rain. A lovely little reminder that life can still surprise us.

💐 Walking past fresh flowers and smiling every time I see them.

🍽️ Sharing good food and good company.

🐾 Watching the pets go about their day and reminding me to slow down and enjoy the moment.

When we focus on what is going well, we naturally create more positive energy within ourselves and within our homes.

And that, to me, is one of the simplest forms of Feng Shui there is. 💚

Today, I’m feeling incredibly grateful for the little things that make life feel rich and meaningful.

👇 Tell me in the comments:

What is one small thing you’re thankful for today?

Let’s fill this corner of the internet with some beautiful energy. 🌸✨

Love, Jodie

❤️ SOUTH WEST - LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS ❤️

This is your partnership area or qua.
Not just for calling love in … but for holding it steady once it arrives.

And here’s what I see all the time

People say they want a relationship …
but their home hasn’t made space for one.

Love needs somewhere to land.

✨ INVITING LOVE IN

Start in your bedroom (this matters just as much as the South West).

Walk in and look at it with fresh eyes

Is there space for someone else to actually live here?

💕 Create real, physical space - wardrobe, drawers, surfaces
💕 Make both sides of the bed easy to access
💕 Use matching or balanced bedside tables where possible
💕 Clear the “I’ll deal with it later” piles

If your room feels full, cluttered or overflowing … there’s simply no space for anyone else.

We want a different message:

“I have space. I am ready. You are welcome here.”

Now move into your South West

💕 Remove anything connected to past relationships
💕 Bring in pairs - two lamps, two cushions, two objects
💕 Use warm Earth energy - creams, blush, soft pinks, terracotta
💕 Place something that represents the relationship you desire

Anchor it with intention:

“I am in a loving, supportive, committed relationship.
We communicate openly, respect each other and genuinely enjoy life together.”

✨ KEEPING LOVE ALIVE (LONG TERM)

Long-term love doesn’t need more “stuff”
it needs the right feeling in the home.

💕 Keep this area calm, not chaotic
💕 Refresh it regularly - fresh flowers, small styling updates
💕 Display happy, current photos together
💕 Add warmth - lighting, texture, softness

Love thrives in spaces that feel safe, warm and inviting.

✨ IF YOUR SOUTH WEST IS THE KITCHEN

This can be beautiful energy for connection … when it’s cared for.

The kitchen represents nourishment, care and daily life together.

💕 Keep benches clear — clutter here often shows up as tension
💕 Cook with intention — even simple meals build connection
💕 Add Earth tones through ceramics, bowls, tea towels
💕 Display items in pairs
💕 A bowl of fresh fruit = shared abundance
💕 Keep the stove clean and working (this supports vitality in the home)

And something simple but powerful

Set your home up for two - even in the smallest ways.
Two mugs. Two seats. Two places set.

✨ IF YOUR SOUTH WEST IS THE BATHROOM

This is where energy can drain… so we gently contain and stabilise it.

💕 Keep it spotless (non-negotiable here)
💕 Always keep the toilet lid down
💕 Fix leaks immediately
💕 Bring in Earth energy - stone, ceramics, sandy tones
💕 Add softness - candles, beautiful towels, calming décor

We’re not activating with water here … we’re grounding and holding the energy steady.

✨ IF YOUR SOUTH WEST IS A SPARE ROOM

This is a big one when calling in love.

A spare room can quietly say:
“I’m comfortable on my own.”

So we shift that

💕 Style it as if it’s ready for someone you love
💕 Not storage, not a dumping space
💕 Make the bed beautifully
💕 Clear wardrobe space here as well
💕 Keep it fresh, light and inviting

Spend time in here occasionally - read, sit, have a cup of tea.
Bring life into the space.

✨ ACTIVATING THE SOUTH WEST ENERGY

Activation doesn’t mean overdoing it.
It means bringing this area to life in a calm, intentional way.

💕 Keep it clean, used and respected
💕 Let in fresh air and light
💕 Place your written intention here
💕 Spend time in the space when you can

Because Feng Shui isn’t just about attracting love …
it’s about living as if it’s already here.

Your home is always responding to you.
Make sure it’s responding to the life you actually want 💫

✨ WANT A FANTASTIC JOB? START HERE ✨

If you’re looking for a new job, a better job, or just more fulfilment in what you’re already doing… your home can absolutely support you.

But (and this matters) … you need to be clear first.

💕 In present tense, write out exactly what you want.
Not “I hope” or “one day”… we’re acting like it’s already happening.

Something like:
“I am so grateful to be working for a business that values me. I am supported, well trained, and have opportunities to grow. I earn $____ per year and feel secure and appreciated in my role.”

Be specific. The more detail, the better.

Now place this:

📍 NORTH (career, life path)
📍 NORTH WEST (helpful people, mentors, decision-makers)

This is you setting the intention in the areas of your home that govern career and support.

Now… this is where most people stop.
And it’s why nothing changes.

You still need to meet the energy halfway.

✔️ Apply for the jobs
✔️ Update your resume
✔️ Do the short course if it’s going to give you an edge
✔️ Tell people what you’re looking for (this one is BIG)

Because honestly… sometimes it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

And yes, it might feel a bit “woo woo” …
But what you’re actually doing is getting clear, focused, and open to opportunities.

Your home supports you.
Your actions move you forward.

Both matter.

✨ Quick Feng Shui tip:
Make sure your front door area is clean, open and inviting. This is where opportunities enter. If it’s blocked, messy or forgotten … so are the chances coming your way.

Your next job isn’t random.
It’s something you can actively align with.

And when your home + your actions are working together … things start to shift.

✨ Everyone keeps asking about WEALTH lately … so let’s talk about what your home might be doing ✨

Your home is either supporting opportunities … or quietly blocking them.

Here are a few simple Feng Shui shifts that start to open things up:

🏡 Front Door = Mouth of Chi
This is where opportunities, money, clients and ideas enter.
If your front door is tired, cluttered, hard to open, or forgotten … you’re literally making it harder for wealth to find you.
Clean it, brighten it, make it feel welcoming.
Open the door and let the opportunities come in!

🌿 South East Bagua (Wealth Area)
Every home has a natural wealth sector.
Walk into this space and ask yourself … does this feel abundant or neglected?
Healthy plants, movement, and life here = growth in your finances.

✨ Your Personal Wealth Areas (Flying Stars)
In a proper Flying Star analysis, there are usually 3–4 key wealth sectors in your home.
This is where the magic really happens… when you activate the right areas, not just the “Pinterest version” of Feng Shui.

🧹 Declutter = Let Chi Flow
Clutter = stuck energy = stuck money.
You don’t need a perfect home … but you do need space for energy to move.

🔥 The Stove = Wealth + Nourishment
Your stove represents income and resources.
Keep it clean. Use all burners (rotate them if needed).
And next level… speak wealth into your home while you clean it.
“I always have more than enough.”
“My home supports financial growth.”

💰 Create a Wealth Bowl/Jar
Make it personal. Make it meaningful.
In mine you’ll find:
💕 Money
💕 Photos of holidays
💕 Citrine + clear quartz
💕 In my office version: overflowing gold and silver coins and crystals

This isn’t decoration… it’s intention made visible.

✨ Add a Touch of Luxury
Wealth energy responds to how you treat yourself now.
Fresh flowers, beautiful textures, something that feels “a bit extra” … it all signals expansion.

🧭 And most importantly… Intention
Your home listens to what you believe is possible.

You don’t need to do everything at once.
Start with one area. One shift. One decision to allow more in.

Because sometimes… it’s not about working harder.
It’s about letting your home support you properly.

✨ BEFORE & AFTER: WHEN YOUR BEDROOM STARTS AFFECTING YOUR MOOD ✨

This was bedroom yesterday.

Bed unmade for over a week.
Curtains closed.
Clothes piling up.
That awkward “not dirty enough to wash, not clean enough to hang up” pile 😂

In Feng Shui terms, the room is holding stuck emotional energy.

And guess what?

This room sits in my Southwest sector — love, relationships, and emotional harmony.

Because this is the Southwest relationship sector, it often mirrors:
💕 connection with partner / marriage
💕 relationship with self
💕 patience and emotional steadiness
💕 the feminine, receptive yin energy of the home

When this area gets heavy, it can show up as:
✨ irritability
✨ short temper
✨ feeling disconnected
✨ emotional exhaustion
✨ “everyone is annoying me” energy

No surprise I’ve been feeling irritated with everyone and a bit over life lately.

In Feng Shui, clutter isn’t just about mess.

It creates stagnant qi.

When that stagnant energy sits in the relationship area of the home, it can feel like frustration, short tempers, emotional heaviness, and even disconnect.

My stars here are 8-3-7.

✨ Mountain 8, grounding, support, emotional stability, home base
✨ Facing 3, irritation, arguments, frustration, reactive communication
✨ Annual 7 = sharp words, tension, criticism, mental agitation

So when the room energy gets stuck, those stars can feel louder.

Sometimes the house reflects exactly how we’re feeling.

Sometimes it also keeps us there.

It was time for a reset 💕
I slept so much better last night.
Wonderful to wake up in a clean, decluttered space.

As with anything, now I have to clean up my “retired” desk in the office so I can move my “Feng Shui work” in. Out with the old, in with the new. 💕

Save this if your bedroom has been feeling heavy too.

Comment RESET if you need a room-energy refresh this week ✨
