IRVINEBANK, HERBERTON PETFORD ROAD

In Parliament yesterday I called on the Government to stop wasting money and upgrade and seal the Herberton Petford Road to Irvinebank, rather than using wasteful ‘band-aid’ methods time and time again.

I have tabled petitions, letters and photos to Parliament on numerous occasions and only small amounts have been allocated and a fraction of problem road sealed, it does not go far enough.

The road is in a deplorable state and needs to be sealed.
We can’t keep asking the Mareeba Shire Council to grade that road every year, by putting bitumen over the top we would not continually have this problem.

We do not want to keep re-sheeting it, it is a waste of money and the problem would be solved if this significant piece of Tablelands road infrastructure was just sealed once and for all.
