📣CALLING ALL EDUCATORS 📣

Register your interest for our next Educators information session on AUSSIE OPTIMISM, a new program to the South West.

Aussie Optimism is a fun program that focuses on developing competencies, resilience and practical skills in children. It is evidence-based on psychological and educational research into the risk and protective factors associated with psychological difficulties with a particular focus on anxiety and depression.

There are several different Aussie Optimism workshops available, all of which are designed to enable teachers and school staff to implement the Aussie Optimism programs effectively and with confidence.

As the school are about to return after the holidays, we just wanted to let you all know we have several programs available to teachers and other staff.

Aussie Optimism is an SEL program by Curtin University. It a Mental Health prevention program and aligns with the National Curriculum. It is really cost effective to take part individually or as a whole school initiative

Tuning in to your Student is a brand new program from the University of Melbourne. Only 30 facilitators worldwide are trained and the South West is lucky to have Deb as one of these special people.

👏 Congrats Deb 👏 Recognised as one of the top Aussie Optimism trainers of the year! Deb was invited to be a facilitator and a trainer for this fabulous program that supports children’s and teens mental health and after being part of the program for only 3 months of this year, received a trainer of the year award.

Another testimant to Debs passion and commitment to supporting families, parents, children and educators. How lucky are we to have her right here in the South West 🙌🏻

We presented the highlights of 2025 and heard from our trainers and stakeholders at the annual Aussie Optimism Steering Committee meeting. Congratulations to Winnie, Holly and Deb for receiving our trainer awards for the year!

This professional learning program aims to build emotionally supportive school communities by emotion coaching children and adolescents in a school setting. 👩‍🏫

This program helps educators recognise, understand and respond constructively to students’ emotions - turning emotional moments into opportunities for growth and connection.

Deb Woods is one of only 30 accreditated facilitators trained worldwide in this program! We can’t wait to bring this program for the very first time to the South West!
