Well this was a fun project...

We're excited to share that planning approval has now been secured for the restoration and redevelopment of the historic Loco Shed in Echuca.✅

After years of dedication, vision and hard work by The Loco Shed Incorporated, this incredible heritage building is a step closer to a new chapter. The approved project includes a new café, function and event space, and an immersive sound and light experience that will bring Echuca's rich rail history to life for visitors, school groups and the wider community.

Cleverly designed by Brandrick Architects, the restoration works and new café building respects and celebrates the heritage significance of the site while helping secure its long-term future.

Acre Town Planning was proud to assist with both the Planning Permit and Heritage Victoria approvals, working as part of a wonderful consultant team to navigate heritage, traffic, acoustic and lighting considerations.

Congratulations to everyone involved in the project. We can't wait to see the Loco Shed become a vibrant destination for locals and visitors alike 🚂✨

We're Growing – Welcome Jenna Ross to Acre Town Planning! 🌱

We are excited to welcome Jenna Ross to the Acre Town Planning team as our new Planning Coordinator.

Jenna brings extensive experience in statutory planning and local government, having worked in planning administration and development assessment roles with Moira Shire Council. She holds a Diploma of Town Planning from the University of New England and has developed strong expertise in planning approvals, stakeholder engagement, customer service and project coordination.

In her role at Acre, Jenna will assist with the preparation and coordination of planning applications while supporting our team across project delivery, administration, marketing and business development activities.

Jenna's attention to detail, planning knowledge and commitment to delivering excellent client service make her a fantastic addition to our growing team.

🏡 From Approval to Construction – Kyalite, NSW 🌿

It's always rewarding to see a project move from the planning stage to construction, and this riverside home at Kyalite is taking shape beautifully.

Acre Town Planning was pleased to assist in securing approval for this new dwelling on the banks of the Wakool River, including a variation to the standard riverfront setback requirements that allowed the home to be positioned approximately 20 metres from the river.

By demonstrating the planning merits of the proposal, the approved design was able to be constructed on highest available ground and utilise an existing cleared area of the property. This avoided the need for vegetation removal and minimised impacts on existing access roads and agricultural infrastructure, delivering a practical outcome for both the landowner and the environment.

It's great to see construction now underway and we look forward to watching this stunning rural home come to life.

Another exciting milestone for the Acre Town Planning team!

We're excited to share that our Planning Proposal to rezone around 270 hectares of land in Temora from RU1 Primary Production to R1 General Residential has achieved Gateway Determination.

This is a significant milestone in the planning process, allowing the proposal to progress to public exhibition and bringing the project one step closer to delivering around 150 new residential lots to support Temora's future growth.

This outcome is the result of a great collaborative effort between Acre, CivPlan, Temora Shire Council and our client. We look forward to progressing the proposal through the next stage of the planning process.

This fantastic development will provide more accommodation options for visitors, support local tourism, and contribute to the ongoing growth of the region.
