Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred update – regional contact numbers today - 9 March 2025
We hope everyone is staying safe in this extreme weather event.
Many of you may have just watched the update from our Premier David Crisafulli MP. The decision has been made that were safe to do so, schools will reopen, tomorrow Monday 10th March, excluding some parts of the Gold Coast where extensive power loss has occurred and no public transport including bus services and light rail will be operating.
Approved Providers need to make their own decisions, taking into account factors such as safety and accessibility before reopening.

Temporary fee waiver - Tropical Cyclone Alfred
When considering reopening, your service may need to apply for a temporary waiver. Waiver application fees associated with cyclone-related impacts have been waived for this event.
Services that have received significant, long-term damage may need to relocate temporarily. This will require a new service approval, which the Regulatory Authority can prioritise. These fees will also be waived. If you are uncertain whether you need a temporary waiver, please contact your regional office.
