The GENKI FAMILIES programme is designed for au pairs and demi pairs who want to work for and live with an Australian family while they follow their language studies or work part-time in Australia. At GENKI FAMILIES we underst

and that an ‘extra hand’ can be beneficial to the parents. It can also be a positive experience for children who love the extra attention and who may also gain from learning about a new culture. At GENKI FAMILIES we aim to provide the best possible service for both the au pairs and the families. Genki Families at present provides au pairs and demi pairs mostly from Japan. Au pair means ‘on par’ or living on an equal basis in a reciprocal relationship between the host family and a young person from a different country. A demi pair and an Au pair work 18 hours a week with housework and childcare, in exchange for accommodation and meals. We also offer homestay programmes for families wishing for a more cultural experience.

🌟 Sydney Families – Experienced Demi Pair Available Late July!

We are looking for a kind and welcoming family in Sydney for a demi pair, an experienced kindergarten teacher from Japan.

👩‍🏫 About Wakana:
Wakana has a gentle, nurturing personality and a strong background in early childhood education. She has worked as both an au pair and a kindy teacher, making her a wonderful support for families with young children.

📚 Her Schedule:
She will be studying at La Lingua English School near Central Station from 4th August to 7th November.
🕤 Class hours:
– 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM (August to late September)
– 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM (29 Sept – 7 Nov)

🏡 Wakana is looking for a demi pair role that allows her to contribute to the home outside of her class hours – helping with childcare and household duties in exchange for accommodation and meals.

👩‍⚕️ About Her:
A qualified Occupational Therapist from Japan with over 10 years’ experience, including work in hospitals, elderly care, home visits, and some paediatric rehab. Available to assist late afternoon/evening daily as she has a job during the day. So would be ideal for a family looking for help 3.30pm onwards.

👶 Childcare:
While her direct childcare experience is limited, she is genuinely eager to care for children and draw on her paediatric rehab skills to engage and play meaningfully. She is kind, calm, and very responsible.

🏠 Skills & Hobbies:
✅ Excellent at all household chores
✅ Loves cooking
✅ Speaks conversational English and is keen to improve
✅ Into fitness and strength training

💬 Her English is improving steadily, and she is looking for a family that will welcome her as part of the household and help her feel connected during her working holiday.

📅 Available: Move-in from end of June to mid-July (flexible) until mid-October.
