WE NEED YOU MOB!

Ngardara Cooperative was set up by the community to own and control Borroloola's solar microgrid, so those decisions sit with the community, not a private company.

Original Power has spent five years alongside Ngardara Cooperative designing and funding this project. We've raised the money ourselves. We're not asking the NT Government for a single cent. We're asking them to sign off so we can start building.

Backing Borroloola solar is a no-brainer. So, will this government back us?

What's the job?
📙Maintain accurate financial records, including payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations. Prepare financial reports and support tax, audit, and compliance obligations
💻Use accounting software (e.g. Xero) to manage day-to-day finances
🤝Support grant, investor, and agreements reporting alongside the General Manager
💭Opportunity for training by qualified accountant (KPMG)

Today was a very good day with the announcement that our Ngardara Solar Microgrid has been awarded $8.347M in funding from the Federal Government's Australian Renewable Energy Agency Regional Microgrid Program 🌞

Alongside the funding announcement, we are looking forward to closing out final grid-connection and commercial agreements on the project soon, while our Borroloola trainees are already hard at work getting unskilled to start project construction in September this year.

We want to thank ARENA and Senator Malarndirri McCarthy - Northern Territory for making the announcement today at Charles Darwin University, and acknowledge the hardwork of all our project partners including Original Power and the wider Borroloola community for your support and belief in us. This funding announcement is a huge milestone and vote of confidence in our project, now we are looking forward to cracking on with construction towards a clean energy future for Borroloola 🔧🔩

Great to see the affordability crisis for Indigenous energy customers on prepayment arrangements front and centre in the media recently.

Our Ngardara microgrid project is working to make energy more affordable for prepayment customers in Borroloola, based on a benefit sharing model that will deliver solar credits direct to every household prepayment meter. With construction due to start in early 2026, we can't wait to bring cheaper, cleaner energy to our community.
