One of the biggest advantages of our compact hydrovac setup is our 35-metre digging radius from the trailer.

That means the trailer can stay out front while we run our vacuum and high-pressure hoses around buildings, behind scaffolding and into areas conventional excavation equipment simply can’t access.

On this job, the scaffolding wasn’t a problem — we just ran the hoses through and got to work.

This one had us working tight down the neighbour’s driveway, with permission from the lovely neighbour of course! 👍

This is what we mean by NDT — Non-Destructive Trenching.

For this electrical trench at , the goal wasn’t just to expose the existing services and then bring another machine in to finish the job.

We dug the entire trench non-destructively.

Using water and vacuum, we were able to cut a narrow trench while removing only the soil we needed to.

Along the way we encountered multiple existing electrical cables and irrigation pipework — exactly the sort of things that can turn conventional excavation into an expensive problem very quickly.

The result speaks for itself:

✅ Full trench completed with NDT
✅ Existing electrical cables safely exposed
✅ Irrigation pipework protected
✅ Minimal soil removed
✅ Surrounding grass left largely untouched
✅ No excavator tracking across the grounds

That’s the difference we’re trying to highlight with NDT.

A lot of trenching for very little disturbance.

We recently completed this electrical trenching for , and this photo sums up exactly why we’re pushing GreenVac towards Non-Destructive Trenching.

We cut a narrow trench across the grounds, removing only the soil that actually needed to come out — without tearing up the surrounding lawn in the process.

Along the way we uncovered multiple existing electrical cables and irrigation pipework, all safely exposed and left intact.

That’s the advantage of trenching with water and vacuum. When you don’t know exactly what’s underneath, you’re not sending an excavator bucket through the ground and hoping for the best.

Narrow trench. Minimal spoil. Minimal surface damage. Existing services safely exposed.

A pretty good result in grounds like these.
