I'm so proud that we have just launched our latest micro-learning course "๐—ง๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐— ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜" with the Agile Change Leadership Institute this week!

While our other courses have been focused on building change capability for leaders and change managers, this is a micro-credential for *everyone* in organisations which handle high volumes of change.

All successful change starts with the right mindset!

We've delivered this in-person for over 800 people now so we know how empowering this is for team leaders, managers and agents of change!

They feel calm and confident and more in control. Or should we say ... comfortable with the lack of control that comes with fast moving change!

It's 66 minutes of powerful content on:
โญ VUCA, VUCA Prime, BANI
โญ How to shift mindsets
โญ And of course...๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ณ๐˜๐˜€ that are critical to dealing with today's workplace environment.

There's experiments to try, resources to read AND of course, an assessment to pass to get the micro-credential.

Message me if you want more information or are interested in team or enterprise pricing.

You can find it at our Teachable school.

Metaphors are powerful ways to introduce sessions, tell stories and nudge mindsets.

To talk about contrasts, learning fast and the power of reflecting and thinking forward, I introduce the Roman God Janus.

Because Janus is represented as two faces or heads facing in opposite directions, he can simultaneously look to the future and to the past.

He is the god of transitions, duality, doorways, and beginnings and endings, making him an ideal representation of change being a transition from old to new.

Just like Janus, the modern change leader helps people to:
โฌ…๏ธ reflect to uncover lessons learned and promote iterative learning with a ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ

Dr Jen Frahm and I have been invited to present to AHRI and their members about how we create cut through leadership development in disruptive times.

The post pandemic world is highly disruptive and can change the way your leaders lead in your organisation.

In the webinar we will be covering upskilling and capability, and the best ways to navigate this in the current world climate.

We *may* also be sharing our new CHEERS model for modern learning!

If youโ€™re interested in joining us in the webinar next week on Wednesday 25 August, follow this link to register.

Itโ€™s impossible to know *everything*, even if you are a recognised expert in your domain or the CEO.

When we have been rewarded for our expertise with a job, title, salary, status โ€“ whatever blows your hair back โ€“ we often impose unrealistic expectations our ourselves.

We donโ€™t want anyone to know that there might be something we donโ€™t know. This โ€˜expert mindsetโ€™ prevents us from adopting a beginnerโ€™s mindset. And a beginnerโ€™s mindset is a much needed attribute to develop a more agile way of thinking and open endless possibilities.

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด can help us do that. Typically, reverse mentoring is when a senior employee reaches out to a younger or more junior employee to learn about something or gain a fresh perspective, or both!

My first experience with reverse mentoring was when I reached out to a grad to help me get some posts up on our Enterprise Social Network. It became more though โ€“ the fresh views on how to engage on social networks were invaluable. It challenged my thinking and helped me let go of preconceived ideas that were holding me back.

Some organisations have developed reverse mentoring programs but you donโ€™t need to wait for this to be formalised. You can seek out your mentor now.

Have you dabbled in reverse mentoring? As the mentor? Or the mentee? How did that work out for you?

When I talk to change leads either setting up a change management office (CMO) or expanding an existing one, they often face many challenges:
๐Ÿ‘‰ It takes a long time to pull the pieces together
๐Ÿ‘‰ I need to demonstrate value to the organisation and my sponsor quickly
๐Ÿ‘‰ I must make sure it aligns to industry best practice
๐Ÿ‘‰ I'd love a checklist so I know Iโ€™ve got everything covered
๐Ÿ‘‰ I want to build a practice where people want to work and grow

Thereโ€™s lots to consider, lots to do!
This is why I created

The good news is that when an organisation is committed to setting up a CMO, they signal that they value change as a core capability. Itโ€™s like a promotion for the change management function.
And you want to set it up for success.

Change practice leads:

Many years ago I shared this quote by printing it out and tacking it on the board near the printer at an organisation I worked at. Someone defaced it soon after and wrote on it:
โ€˜We donโ€™t make mistakes around hereโ€™.

Oops โ€“ that got up someoneโ€™s nose.

In our work on the agile mindset, accepting failure and owning up to errors is something most people struggle with. It goes against our conditioning and how weโ€™ve been rewarded.

With no tolerance for mistakes, how do we learn? How do we become better at what we do?

๐ŸŸ  Make the time for mindful reflection of what didnโ€™t go well.
โšช๏ธ Retrospectives are a brilliant tool to do this in a safe place.
๐ŸŸ  You can avoid the word โ€˜failureโ€™ and focus on โ€˜lessonsโ€™.

If I could wind the clock back, Iโ€™d add another quote next that comment that says:
๐—œ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ฝ๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜†๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐—ฒ,

I do hope that corporate โ€˜graffiti artistโ€™ has shifted their mindset since then.
