The determining factor in whether or not an organisation is successful in attaining a Government grant or tender is judged far less on the physical application itself and far more on the footprint or reputation of the organisation and its perceived capability to deliver.

Most companies aren’t aware they even have a ‘footprint’ or what such footprint consists of.

If you are finding yourself repeatedly being overlooked for Government Tenders and/or Grants with little to no explanation - this is often a very simple fix and a matter of organisations not knowing what they don’t know!

Don’t pay more and more money to tender writers hoping for success, but do a company footprint health check to ensure you are compliant and eligible to start being accepted for those contracts immediately.

**CALLING ALL PHYSIOS AND ALLIED HEALTH WORKERS**

A couple of years back after a LONG and calculated battle, we were able to contribute to getting the Department of Veteran Affairs to increase their fee to match NDIS for Psychology consults of veterans. This ensured more, and better skilled, Psychologists would accept DVA clients as they no longer were having to accept a substantial fee differential.

Now it’s allied health’s turn! We are in the process of seeking the DVA fee for services rendered by physios to be increased, as currently due to the substantial difference in fees paid by DVA v private client costs, physios are assigning their newest and least experienced physios to DVA patients as they have expressed they simply can’t afford to operate at a greater loss by using more experienced physios who are paid more. Some physios don’t take DVA patients full stop as they don’t want to have to make up the financial gap for each consult.

If you are a physio or allied health professional who wants to be a part of us strategically lobbying the relevant Government Ministers through extensive statistics and relationships to increase the fee paid for veteran consults by DVA - please contact us.

The Governing bodies of a couple of the allied health services are appreciative of our desire to see this changed, and are already working with us.

We are confident that like we saw in the Psychology sector, we will be able to have the DVA increase their contribution to veteran consults to align more closely with the standard practice fees.

I am enjoying a great and much needed time away with my family on the Gold Coast, but it’s moments like this that I find myself reflecting that if not for the sacrifice of all our servicemen and servicewomen past and present, this would not be possible.

I try to never take the freedoms we have in this Nation for granted. Freedom is never free.

Happily representing 42 for 42. by wearing my shirt so that others too can be reminded of the sacrifice of our Afghanistan veterans as well as ALL who have, and continue to serve. This is important to me being a proud Afghanistan veteran myself.

Lest We Forget.

What is one thing you can be intentional about doing today that will make a difference? It doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming, but it needs to be planned or you will get to bed tonight and realise you didn’t do anything.

If you are unsure of what or whom, as you start your day it’s as simple as saying, “today I am going to active look for a situation where I can do something to make a difference.” Then go and do so!

Imagine if everybody lived this out everyday. It would change the world! However, like anything, it’s got to start with one. That one can be you!
