Today is International Virtual Assistants Day, a day to celebrate and acknowledge the efforts, contribution and dedication of the global VA community – a community I’m so proud and grateful to be a part of.

Being a VA has changed my life in so many ways and has given me the lifestyle freedom I’d been craving for many years. Being able to work from home or from any location is like a dream come true. It has also allowed my partner and I to take some time out over the past few months while we spent time in the UK for family reasons. Because my business is virtual, I was still able to service my clients wherever and whenever I could during that time.

For me, creating that kind of freedom to make lifestyle choices, put family first, work my own schedule, and design a life on my terms was the key reason why I started my business, and my main motivating factor for continuing on this path, even when the road gets a bit rocky.

My mission is to support female coaches, leaders and change-makers to create their own version of freedom in their lives, by helping them regain time and energy to focus on their passions and what truly matters to them. Providing this behind the scenes support so that others can shine their light is where I love to work my magic! ✨

I am endlessly inspired by all the VA’s out there and constantly in awe of the generosity of the VA community who is always there to provide support, encouragement and guidance to anyone who has the courage to ask. It is honestly one of the most supportive communities I have ever been a part of and the work they do is helping to transform lives – not just for our clients but for all the people our clients serve through the incredible work they do.

Cheers to all the VA’s, I’m so happy to be a part of this amazing industry! šŸ’œ

This month I am celebrating my first full year in business, woohoo!! šŸŽ‰

These past 12 months have been exciting and eventful, full of challenges and ups and downs, and I’m proud of myself for reaching this milestone. Now as we come into the final months of the year my body and mind are starting to slow down, BIG TIME! I feel so ready to take some time off, to relax, recharge and enjoy a change of scenery away from my little home office environment. I haven’t completely come to a standstill but I’m allowing myself to slow right down, to stop pushing, striving and just appreciate how far I’ve come.

Last week I felt guilty about this, as if somehow my slowing down meant that I wasn’t finishing off the year ā€˜strong’ or on a positive note. But I know I need to listen to my body and honour my energy. I’m not stopping, just changing pace. 🐌

So for the last few weeks of the year, I’ve decided to engage in activities that I CHOOSE to engage in, rather than ones I feel I SHOULD be doing. I’ve enrolled in some short courses, I’m giving my first podcast interview, I’m meeting up with friends for coffee (in my case, tea!) and I’m planning our new year road trip. And I’m letting go of the guilt so I can enjoy it all fully!

I’m curious to know how others are ending the year. Are you slowing down, speeding up or just going with the flow?

I LOVE being able to support women in achieving their goals with more ease!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Georgina from Vitalita Health & Fitness to create a strategy and system for podcast pitching. Two weeks after the completion of our project, Georgina contacted me to say she had her first YES in her inbox from one of the podcast hosts we pitched to – so exciting!!! šŸŽ‰

Like many business owners, Georgina was a little apprehensive about asking for help, but she realised that she needed some support to take action and increase her visibility and reach.

Georgina knew she had tons of value to share with other people’s audiences and that podcast guesting was the perfect way for her to spread her message and connect with new and aligned audiences, but getting started is the hardest part. Together we were able to put a solid plan in place by creating templates, tools and systems to help streamline the process and make it easeful and fun!

Thanks Georgina for your amazing feedback! šŸ’œ

The thought of pitching yourself for speaking opportunities may seem daunting, especially if you don’t have a strategy in place for how you’ll make this a reality. Crafting a pitch is a good place to start, but just like any other marketing strategy, it requires a lot of thought and preparation. You may never feel 100% ready but having the tools and processes in place before you start pitching will allow you to create a system that is manageable and helps you to feel more confident to take that first step.

This will inevitably involve a big investment in the beginning – whether it’s a time investment on your part to get everything set up yourself, or a financial investment to pay someone to do it for you. Once you’ve decided which investment makes the most sense for you, you can take the necessary steps to make it happen.

Here are some things to consider when developing your podcast pitch strategy:

1. Decide what types of podcasts you want to be a guest on. Identify the type of show that will best suit you and attracts an audience that will resonate with your message.

2. Craft your speaking topics. What topics do you want to share that are within your area of expertise and will be valuable to others? Make sure these are topics that directly relate back to your business and will help you to attract your ideal clients.

3. Choose your research tools and platforms. There are many ways to find your ideal podcasts to pitch to but this takes a lot of time and research, so you’ll need to know where the best places are to look. You could search via iTunes, platforms such as Listen Notes or even just a Google search.

4. Craft a compelling pitch template. This is not a one and done task as you’ll need to personalise the pitch for each new submission. However, having a master template for the pitch and follow up emails will make the process so much easier rather than re-writing them from scratch each time.

5. Have a tracking and recording system in place.
You’ll need to have a system to document the podcasts found during your research, how to apply, and to keep track of podcasts you’ve pitched to and the responses you receive. This could be a project management platform like Trello or Click Up, or as simple as an Excel spreadsheet.

If you decide to make a financial investment to get your podcast strategy up and running, a VA can assist with all of the above to help get you on your way.

Ask me about my podcast pitch offer to find out how I can help you craft your perfect pitch templates! 😊

After a relaxing weekend away on the coast I’m feeling relaxed and refreshed for a big week ahead!

There’s something about being by the ocean that instantly makes me feel calm and grounded. šŸ’š

The first pic was the glorious view from our apartment on Friday afternoon. On Saturday afternoon we sat and watched the storm pass over (second pic) which to me was equally as beautiful. I love watching Mother Nature at work! ā›ˆ

Happy Monday to all! šŸ’œ

Lately I’ve been helping some amazing women to increase visibility in their business through guest appearances and podcast guesting.

I really love the podcast format because most of the time it’s a 1:1 conversation that allows the host and guest to go deep into different topics – much deeper than you can with other types of content. And for an introvert like me who values meaningful conversation over small talk, this sounds perfect!

This work had got me thinking about my own visibility and last night I had the privilege of speaking to Georgina from A life brimming with vitality!] as a guest on her wonderful ā€˜Wellness Wisdom for Busy Women’ IG Live series.

We had a great conversation about the importance of self-care as a business owner and how to prioritise our own health and wellness by being kind to ourselves and putting ourselves first. Head over to A life brimming with vitality!] if you’d like to check it out, and be sure to follow Georgina and Sam to learn more about the amazing work they do.

If someone had told me a year ago that I’d be having live recorded conversations with other inspiring business owners I would have laughed and said no way in hell! But I’m realising that visibility doesn’t have to be scary, it can be as simple as having a casual 1:1 conversation with another like-minded human about topics that are close to my heart. I just have to do it MY way, in a way that feels genuine, authentic and aligned with my values. And that for me is what wellness is all about – being true to myself and following my own unique path.

What’s your favourite visibility strategy that is aligned with your values and unique personality?

If you’re a coach or small business owner with a big message to share, being a guest on a podcast is an amazing way to reach new audiences and get your message out there. šŸ“¢

But it’s not always easy to know where or how to start to apply to your ideal podcasts.

Having a well-crafted pitch is key to ensuring that firstly, your email is opened and read, and secondly, that you get that all-important invite to be on the show.

Here are a few tips to help you to prepare your pitch:

šŸŽ™ A bio – you’ll need to introduce yourself in a couple of sentences or less, so it’s crucial to have a short and succinct bio that you can pull from to explain who you are, what you do, and why you do it.

šŸŽ™ Ideas and topics for your conversation – make a list of all the key topics and sub-topics that you want to talk about, that are in your area of expertise. Record them in a spreadsheet or another tool of choice so you can refer back to them each time you prepare a new pitch.

šŸŽ™ Why you want to be on the podcast - it’s super important that you actually listen to a few episodes before pitching to a podcast to show the host that you resonate with their messages and themes. It’s also important to make sure you’re the right fit for the audience and that the show is the right fit for the topics you want to discuss.

šŸŽ™ Contact details and links – share a link to your website, and include the links to any of your social media accounts in your email signature to make it as easy as possible for the host to find out more about you.

Getting your foot in the door isn’t always easy but with a well thought out pitch it will make it so much easier to apply for multiple podcasts to get those guest invitations rolling in!

If you’d like some help in crafting yours, send me a DM to find out how I can help you create your perfect pitch templates! šŸ’œ

My affirmation for this week is ā€˜I surrender to a power greater than me’.

This mental health week, it’s a timely reminder that we cannot always be in control and things don’t always go to plan. We can create routines and schedules and systems, and of course these things are important and help us to operate with more ease and efficiency. But life happens and sometimes plans and schedules go out the window and we need to adapt to changes in our environments. Ā

So, when things happen that are beyond our control, the act of letting go and surrendering to ā€˜what is’ can be incredibly freeing. It’s something I’ve been practicing lately, allowing myself to feel the feels and accept whatever is coming up for me and not trying to change it. This helps to ground and bring me back into the present, and forget about the ā€˜shoulds’, ā€˜coulds’ and ā€˜what ifs’ and just relax and observe what is happening for me in the here and now.

It’s really difficult to let go when we’re always seeking control and are afraid of uncertainty. But awareness is the first step and I’m grateful for the beautiful reminder. šŸ’œ

Have you ever thought about being a guest on a podcast?šŸŽ™

Podcasting is HUGE right now and is one of the best marketing strategies for coaches to spread their message, get visible, reach new audiences and gain new clients.

As someone who devours podcasts on a daily basis, I find it’s a great way for me to find and connect with new people in specific areas of interest because I can instantly develop a resonance with them and their message. I love the long form interview format which allows you to get to know the hosts and guests on a deeper level than you would just looking at their social media pages or website.

As a guest on a podcast, you can quickly build the know, like and trust factor by utilising other people’s audiences as well as your own.

Swipe to see my top 5 reasons to guest on podcasts. This is just the tip of the iceberg though, there are so many more benefits to incorporating this strategy into your marketing plan šŸ˜‰

Today is – a celebration of the power of podcasts! šŸŽ§

I am such a huge fan of podcasts and I can honestly say that listening to podcasts has changed my life. I’ve learnt so much about so many topics by listening to podcasts on anything from music, lifestyle, and health & wellbeing, to education, business and entrepreneurship.

If ever there’s something I’m curious about or a question I need answered, there’s a podcast for it!

So, it’s timely that this week I’ve been working on an offer to help coaches, educators and heart-centred business owners create the perfect podcast pitch!

Stay tuned for details! šŸ’œ

Reset and Refocus ✨

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and there have been a few reasons for that, one of them being the passing of my beautiful Nanna. I took some time away from social media to allow myself to grieve, spend time with family and reminisce on all the wonderful memories that will help to keep her spirit alive.

It hasn’t felt right to post again until now and, in all honesty, I just didn’t have the words or inspiration to be able to sit down and write.

But yesterday after a brief meditation session, I regained some inspiration about the power of taking time out to reset and refocus.

Whether it be for an extended time (days or weeks) or just a short 10 minute break during the workday, the benefits of taking time out are truly endless.

For me, the extended time away from social media helped me to escape the constant ā€˜noise’ of information that is thrown at us day in day out. I realised I was getting so caught up in what others were doing and saying on social media that I wasn’t listening to myself and that was sending me into procrastination mode, hindering my ability to get inspired to write and show up authentically.

The brief time I spent meditating yesterday allowed me to declutter my mind, get clear on what is actually important and what are just distractions, and refocus on my priorities.

It sometimes feels like taking time out is a self-indulgent activity, and for me, there’s a lot of guilt associated with it. But I’m starting to understand that self-care is crucial to my mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing, and I can no longer push through when I’m not feeling at my best. After a break I now feel ready to re-emerge and show up with renewed energy and enthusiasm.

What activities help you to reset and refocus?
