A recent evaluation of the Legal Aid Commission lawyer-assisted family law property mediation trial demonstrated the effectiveness of mediation and of lawyer-assisted mediation in settling family law disputes. The researchers found that 81% of matters that went to mediation were fully or partially resolved. The majority of parties were satisfied with the process (76%).
