Choosing the right English Language School

What is IELTS?

ILETS is short for 'International English Language Testing System. The ILETS test assesses your skill in English Language. It is the most globally recognised testing method for measuring ability in English language. ILETS is used for determining English proficiency for Australian tertiary education and immigration applications

The ILETS Test

IELTS measures skill in English language on a scale of 1 to 9. A person graded at 9 has achieved the highest level of proficiency. An application for postgraduate studies or professional registration would required this level of ability. Tests for ILETS are about 3 hours long. They are a comprehensive assessment of a student’s skill in four key learning areas:

Listening
Reading
Writing
Speaking

General Test

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) recognises ILETS test scores. It is a measure competence in English for immigration and student visa applications. Also, it is used to determine admission for vocational and industry level training.

Academic Test

The academic test is for people applying for high education programs. Australian universities can differ in their minimum requirements for IELTS scores. Also, the prerequisite score for various higher education programs can vary.

The City Botanic Gardens is of Brisbane's most cherished public gardens. Back in 1828 it was first opened to the public. The Gardens are of historic importance to the state of Queensland. A collection of 23 different bamboo species are growing in the gardens. Also, it is home to many rare species of plants. The park covers an area of 45 acres.

Queensland's University of Technology is next door to the Gardens. It is a popular location for weddings and a variety of communities events. Activities to do in the Botanic Gardens include:

Walking and cycling
Picnicking
Tai Chi Qigong
Guided tours

I went for a early morning walk along the walking trail at Kangaroo Point. Kangaroo Point has some great locations to view Brisbane the River City. Kangaroo Point is a popular with tourists and international students. There are free picnic and barbecue facilities available for everyone to use.
