It’s NAIDOC Week! 🔥

What better way to honour our 50th NAIDOC week and the theme of 'The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy' than by celebrating some strong and visionary Indigenous women who are crushing it in STEM.

Huge shout out to:

🌿 Tiahni Adamson – A proud Kaurareg woman and 2024 SA Young Australian of the Year, Tiahni leads climate justice initiatives, blends Indigenous knowledge with conservation biology, and advocates nationally through Seed Indigenous Youth Climate Network.

🚀 Tully Mahr – A Gundungurra woman and mechanical engineering masters student at The University of Melbourne who interned at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Tully is passionate about merging Indigenous knowledge with space science and engineering innovation.

💻 Susan Beetson – A Wiradjuri computer scientist at The University of Queensland researching how digitising Indigenous Knowledges shapes future economies. She’s a lead investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Futures and a champion for Indigenous entrepreneurship in tech.

👉 Take a moment this NAIDOC Week to explore their work, share their stories, and support the legacy they’re building.

I can’t wait to see what’s next.

✨ I’m incredibly proud to share that I’ve been named the 2025 Young Australian of the Year! ✨

This award isn’t just about me—it’s about the communities, culture, and people who have shaped my journey. It’s a celebration of what we can achieve when we dream big, embrace education, and work together for change.

As an Indigenous researcher, my passion is to inspire others to reach higher, protect Country, and create a better future for the next generations. This recognition reflects the support, guidance, and encouragement I’ve received from so many along the way.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of my journey. Let’s keep pushing for reconciliation, equity, and progress together.

I’m incredibly honoured to be a finalist for the Young Australian of the Year Awards! This recognition means so much to me, as it highlights not only my journey but also the importance of innovation, sustainability, and amplifying Indigenous voices in STEM.

The awards ceremony is happening tonight, and I’m so excited to share this moment with other amazing Australians making a difference. You can tune in to watch it live on ABC or stream it on ABC iview.

Through my work, I’ve always strived to create meaningful change—whether it’s developing greener solutions for industrial challenges, mentoring the next generation of scientists, or ensuring that underrepresented communities have a seat at the table.

Congratulations to all the finalists! Let’s continue to celebrate the incredible work happening across the nation.
