Week 3 gave Lu a very different kind of homework.

She spent the week reviewing other coaches.

Their websites. Their socials. Their messaging. Their pricing. How easy they made it for a potential client to understand what they actually do.

It turned into a powerful exercise in figuring out what she liked, what she did not, and most importantly, how she wants to do things differently.

Because competitor research is not about becoming more like everyone else.

It is about understanding the market well enough to clearly define your own point of difference.

That is one of the reasons Fempreneur goes deeper than the surface level of running a business.

You are learning to look critically at what is happening around you, make strategic choices and build a business that is clear about who it is for and why it is different.

That knowledge matters when you are preparing to coach other women through the same decisions.

Coach Joelene - Whole Woman Coaching came to Fempire as a client.

She worked through Fempreneur and filmed it as she went. This is the last of those videos, on the day she certified.

Alicia Hagen built a business specifically so it could be sold without her. No founder as the face, nothing depending on her personally.

Then she sold it.

Accepting that your replacement will be about 70 percent of you and hiring them anyway. Knowing your own marketing numbers before you outsource them.

Christchurch, you have been giving it away for free.

In the friends group chat. At the girls catchups. And probably in the staff room at work.

Or maybe you are already consulting. You are getting paid for it. But you are still down in the tools, when what you want is to be the one creating the light bulb moments.

Either way, you know you are coaching. You just do not call it that, because you have not got a ready built framework or methodology to take to market.

Your year doesn't end on 25 December.

If you sell a product, it's decided by early December. Postal cut-offs, last orders, the last markets. Whatever hasn't sold by then is sitting on a shelf in January.

If you sell a service, your clients disappear mid December and most don't come back until February.

So write down your real date. Friday 4 December if you sell a product. Friday 11 December if you sell a service.

Now the part that catches people. There are fourteen weeks left in the year and only ten of them are selling weeks. Those ten have to pay for all fourteen, and for January too. Your rent doesn't take January off.

January is a month you have to have already paid for.

Look at what's actually booked between now and your date. The gap is your job for the rest of the year.
