Etihad Airways is introducing inflight nannies to lend a hand to families. They will be identified by orange aprons and be available to replenish milk bottles, perform magic tricks and take older children on tours of the galley. Is this is a service you would welcome on board?

Have you recently returned to work and struggling with a case of mothers guilt"? You are not alone. A recent survey found that 55% of Australian parents feel 'mother guilt' is the hardest thing about returning to work.

Here are some ways you can proactively deal with that guilt:

Try spending a whole day with your child at the weekend doing nothing but fun stuff, ignore the household chores and spend the time doing things you all love.

Negotiate to work more flexibly, for example ask whether you can start work earlier and finish earlier so you can pick your child up in time to spend a few hours with them in the evening.

Create special family routines around your work schedule to give you some firm personal commitments and some events to look forward to in the working week.

Although, it may sometimes feel like guilt and parenting go hand-in-hand try and remember that guilt is simply a negative manifestation of the deep emotional bond you have with your child.
