Community was the conversation at our latest Coffee Casual, but what really stood out was how much bigger the idea is than simply building an audience around a business.
Belonging is something we seek throughout our lives. And as adults, particularly as business owners, those natural places of connection can become fewer.
From a business perspective, creating community gives people a reason to connect with your brand beyond a transaction. It can build trust, loyalty, referrals, deeper relationships and a stronger sense of shared purpose.
And it can look very different depending on your business.
It might be bringing people together in person, creating a customer group, collaborating with others in your industry, starting a regular conversation or simply giving people a way to participate rather than only consume.
One of the questions we explored was:
Where could you create a greater sense of belonging in your business?
Because often, when the right people come together, relationships deepen, ideas are shared and new opportunities begin to emerge.
That has always been a big part of what we hoped to create with Byron Business Social too. A business community we genuinely wanted to be part of.
