Whether you're ready to grow, innovate, or level up, we’re here with hands-on, impactful solutions that make things happen. I’m Kylie—a proud mum to two beautiful daughters, raised to be smart, resilient, and independent, and deeply connected to our PNG heritage. I grew up in Darwin, NT, moved around a bit, and even headed south for a while—but it got way too cold for me, so I made my way back to

the tropics of Cairns, QLD in 2009. The tropical lifestyle, camping in the bush, and spending quality time with family keep me grounded. My days are a mix of early morning gym sessions, enjoying great food, connecting with awesome people, and of course, dreaming about the next adventure. As an extraverted introvert, I love deep connections but also cherish my quiet moments to recharge. I can be a little cheeky, but I’m also fiercely loyal, caring, and passionate about the work I do. I’ve worked in remote, Indigenous, and vulnerable communities, bringing a hands-on, innovative yet practical approach to everything I do—whether it’s project development, event management, mental health education, child safety, or youth and family engagement. For me, true success is all about creating lasting impact. Whether I’m helping you build connections, secure the right funding, or deliver programs that make a difference, I’m here to turn your vision into reality. Along the way, I’m also teaching my daughters that purpose-driven work can change lives—because if I can do it, so can they.

“I’m all about helping people turn their big dreams into real, lasting change!”

This one makes my heart happy. 💜

Back in 2021, I had the pleasure of supporting this young woman, Julienne, through SPAYC Cadets, a leadership and empowerment project delivered with Cairns Safer Streets and Harbrow Mentoring Australia.

Fast forward a few years, and she is now a Police Liaison Officer with Queensland Police Service.

Seeing young people grow, find their confidence, discover their strengths and go on to create their own pathways is one of the most rewarding parts of community work.

It’s also a beautiful reminder of the legacy and impact of grassroots programs. Sometimes the work we do in a room, on a program or alongside a young person doesn’t show its full impact for years.

This is exactly why investing in young people matters. 🌱

A bit of a full-circle moment 🙌🏾

Back in 2024, this young woman took part in a number of Harbrow Mentoring & Our Future Mentors youth development programs. These included QLD Blue Light Blue Edge Program and Cairns Safer Streets SPAYC Cadets Program, a six-month leadership and employment readiness program supporting young people to build confidence, skills and pathways into their future.

Fast forward to now and look at her go — Julienne is now working with the Queensland Police Service as a Liason Officer and about to start training as a Police Officer👮🏾‍♀️💙

Programs come and go, but seeing a young person years later putting those skills into action is what makes the work worthwhile. It was great catching up and seeing how far she has come since her SPAYC Cadet/high school days. 💫💫💫

Very proud to see another young person stepping into their career, representing their community and building their own pathway. From Cadet to career — we love to see it! 💪🏾 👏🏾

Kylie Young Consultancy is now a Local Buy Pty Ltd pre-authorised supplier for Project Management & Superintendency Services, adding to our existing pre-authorisation for Event Management Services.

This means KYC can support councils and eligible organisations across Queensland and the Northern Territory with practical project management, coordination, stakeholder engagement and delivery support.

It’s a great next step for KYC and builds on the work I’ve already been doing across FNQ and beyond including community development projects, the IMF RAW Championships, business mentoring through Biri Bana Connect, event management and the development of the SLSQ Indigenous Cultural Capability Plan.

I’m particularly excited about being able to bring this experience to more regional and remote communities, helping organisations turn ideas and projects into action.

If your organisation has a project, event or community initiative coming up and needs some extra support, get in touch. I’d love to have a chat.

What a weekend 🤎

After more than 6 months of planning, conversations, visits, problem solving, organising and bringing people together, it was pretty special to see the The Indigenous Marathon Foundation’s 2026 RAW Championships come to life on Alngith Country in Napranum.

Being involved in the planning and delivery of this event has been such a privilege. Events like this don’t happen without the support, commitment and generosity of community, and I’m incredibly grateful to the Napranum community for welcoming IMF with open arms and embracing what this event represents - connection, leadership, culture, wellbeing and community pride.

A huge thank you to Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council for backing the event and helping make it possible, along with PCYC Napranum, Napranum & Weipa IMF RAW - Running and Walking Group, Napranum Justice Group, Kluthuthu Christian College, Napranum Takeaway and Catering, Weipa Community Care Association, local leaders, volunteers and everyone who played a part behind the scenes.
A special shout out to our local sponsors and supporters who helped bring this vision to life - Weipa Running Festival, Rio Tinto Weipa, Sodexo Australia and IBIS - Islanders Board of Industry and Service - Community Enterprise Queensland (CEQ). Your support helped create an unforgettable experience for our participants, supporters and the wider community.

Seeing RAW participants from across Australia come together, share stories, challenge themselves and celebrate each other was a reminder of why this program is so powerful. The medals and finish lines are amazing, but the real magic is in the friendships, confidence, encouragement and connections built along the way.

Congratulations to everyone who participated, volunteered and supported the weekend. Napranum should be incredibly proud of what was achieved.

Thank you Rob de Castella and IMF for trusting me to be part of this journey. It has been an honour 🤎

It feels like forever since I've had the chance to jump on here!

If you've been wondering where I've disappeared to... the truth is, life and business have been moving at full speed.

Over the past few months I've been deep in planning a major event, working across a number of ongoing community and business projects, meeting with clients, travelling, and quietly building Kylie Young Consultancy behind the scenes. There are some exciting developments on the horizon that I promise I'll share with you soon!

In amongst the busy, there has also been sorry business, precious family time, the everyday juggle that so many of us know, and even a sneaky little trip to Samoa to fill my own cup for a few days.

Running a business often means the work happening behind the scenes is bigger than what appears on social media. While I've been a little quiet online, it's certainly not because I've been standing still.

Thank you to everyone who has continued to support, encourage and trust me with your projects. It never goes unnoticed.

Another inspiring and impactful workshop delivered by the deadly Talicia Minniecon from Mob Made Media & Communications Agency as part of Biri Bana Connect, an Indigenous Business Innovation project funded by Advance Queensland and delivered in partnership with Harbrow Mentoring Australia and Launch YEP.

Last night, Mob Made Media & Communications Agency’s Talicia Minniecon delivered a highly informative and engaging workshop, sharing valuable insights into the ever-evolving world of social media and marketing.

Business owners based within the Cairns region were given the opportunity to get hands-on with a range of gadgets and tools designed to elevate their online presence, strengthen their branding, and enhance the way they present themselves in the digital space. While the session was fun, interactive, and full of energy, Talicia also shared personal reflections from her own journey, experiences that have helped shape her expertise and establish her as a leader not only in the communications and marketing space, but in her community.

The workshop explored both the opportunities and challenges that come with navigating the online world. Talicia highlighted practical strategies for utilising social media platforms effectively, growing business visibility, and connecting with broader networks, while also encouraging participants to be mindful of the less positive aspects of the digital landscape.

A huge thank you to Talicia for delivering such an outstanding workshop. Your knowledge, authenticity, and willingness to share your experiences made for a powerful and informative session that left attendees inspired and better equipped to strengthen their digital presence.

This week I travelled to Napranum and Weipa with Olivia from The Indigenous Marathon Foundation for a pre event visit and a series of meetings with community members and key stakeholders as we build toward the 2026 IMF Running and Walking Championships in Napranum, Cape York QLD.

It was a really grounding few days connecting with community and I am genuinely overwhelmed by the support and excitement for what is ahead. The energy for this event is already so strong and it's clear how much pride there is locally.

In July, we are looking forward to welcoming around 80 participants from 12 communities across Australia for the this national event. It is going to be a powerful few days of connection, movement and shared experience.

We also had the bonus of catching some incredible sunsets and moon rises over Napranum and Weipa that were just stunning.

Feeling grateful and excited for what is coming next.
