29 September - The AHI Victorian Branch Committee is excited to invite you to a site tour of Uniting Housing's Myers Street development in Bendigo - we'd love for you to join us!
Completed in January, this 73-unit project is now home to more than 130 people and is an exemplar of how faith-based organisations like Uniting are reimagining their land holdings and contributing to the community in new and meaningful ways. Built on under-utilised church land next to the historic St Andrews Church, the development blends heritage architecture with contemporary design, and includes a community garden and children's play area at its heart.
Following a 90-minute tour of the development and social housing areas, a catered lunch will be provided by local social enterprise café Peppergreen Farm.
For those coming from Melbourne, you’re invited to meet us at Southern Cross Station at 8:45am to take the train to Bendigo together. Light refreshments will be provided for the journey and you have the option of sitting with sector colleagues and networking. Alternatively you can make your own travel arrangements.
This event is the perfect opportunity to see a standout example of social housing innovation and connect with sector colleagues from CHPs, government agencies and values-aligned private developers.
Please note the tour is strictly limited to 20 attendees, and we kindly ask that only one representative per organisation registers to ensure fair access.
