A young person shared their experience of the care system: a lack of stability, limited mental health support, and feeling unheard. Two days in Darwin at the Australian Homelessness Conference, and what a pleasure it was.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the ahi: stand in the Networking and Exhibition precinct. It was great to connect with fellow housing professionals, meet new faces and catch up with familiar ones from across the sector.

Thank you also to AHURI and the conference organisers for such a valuable two days.

NSW Minister Rose Jackson spoke about the scale of ending homelessness, and the risk of vague conversations leaving vulnerable voices unheard. She welcomed having a specific goal to be held accountable to.

John Engeler, CEO of Shelter NSW and AHI's NSW board director, shared that Shelter NSW couldn't do its work without organisations like AHI, bringing housing professionals together to share ideas and collaborate on solutions to the housing crisis.
