Solar is a long-term investment. Choose a team that will be here long term. SolarHub has been helping customers for over 15 years, with more than 16,000 installations across Canberra, Wollongong, Eden, the Snowy Mountains and surrounding regions.

That experience matters. If something needs support in five, 10 or 15 years, you want a local installer who is still around to help.

⚡Big news for Australian businesses, announced right here at a SolarHub client site!

Today we hosted Federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen MP and Nigel Morris from the Smart Energy Council at Go Troppo Fruit Market, as the Government announced a tenfold expansion of the federal solar rebate. From 1 October 2026, it will cover commercial systems up to 1MW, up from 100kW today.

Until now, the rebate cliff decided your system size. Go over 100kW and the upfront discount disappeared entirely, so businesses installed 99.9kW systems on roofs that could easily carry 300kW or more, and paid the grid for the rest of their daytime power.

What you need to know:
- The discount is worth around $100,000 on a 400kW system
- NSW businesses can stack it with PRCs under the PDRS
- The Government has also committed to speeding up network connections for mid-scale projects
- The biggest winners: big roofs and high daytime consumption

If you were ever quoted above 100kW and the numbers didn't stack up, get it requoted: https://ap1.hubs.ly/H01bm0k0 ☀️

In rural areas, backup power really matters. When trees, storms, and long power lines are part of the local setup, losing power is always a risk.

For a site carrying out important care and surgery, a reliable solar and battery system can make a real difference, keeping essential power available when it matters most.

That’s why experience with rural installations, backup design, and local conditions is so important.

☀️🔋Check out our team in action on a charity system donation near Braidwood!

We installed a new solar and battery system at Southern Cross Wildlife Hospital, where Dr Howard Ralph, Glenda Ralph and their team of volunteers have rescued and operated on injured native wildlife 🦘 for more than 40 years.

The system gives them full-facility blackout backup for those critical moments mid-surgery, and should cut their power bills by around 60 to 70%, money that can go straight back into caring for the animals. 🐨

Huge thanks to Dr Ralph, Glenda and the whole Southern Cross Wildlife Care team for the extraordinary work you do every day 💚, and to the manufacturers who donated the gear. Thanks to Your Energy Answers for bringing us on board.

Solar or solar and battery? For many homes, the answer is now both. With battery prices improving and electricity prices rising, storing your solar for evening use makes more sense than ever, especially when power is most expensive after work.

And while you’re upgrading, it’s worth looking at hot water too. A heat pump can help reduce gas use and make better use of your energy system.

Safety and quality go hand-in-hand in solar. At SolarHub, edge protection is used on most installs to help keep workers safe while working on rooftops.

It takes extra time to set up, but a protective barrier around the roof can make all the difference. Good installers don’t cut corners, they take safety, compliance, and workmanship seriously.

An existing SolarHub customer in regional NSW near Canberra came to us with three existing Powerwall 2 batteries and two new electric vehicles. They wanted to expand their storage without replacing what they had already built.

As part of a controlled beta programme with Tesla, our team added a Powerwall 3 and an Expansion Pack to their existing system. We also upgraded their solar from 15 kW to 25 kW and installed a Tesla Wall Connector and a second EV charger in the same visit. Total storage now sits at 67.5 kWh.

Backward compatibility in battery storage has been a long time coming. This installation shows it is now possible for the right site conditions.

How do you keep 15,000 solar systems performing well after 10 years?

It starts with a quality installation and continues with strong customer support and communication over the life of the system. When installers stay connected with their customers, systems stay safer, perform better, and keep delivering savings long term.
