For older harps, there may be hidden parts needing some attention, that’s why it’s always great to have a service and then I can check everything 🥰

This pedal harp base was delaminating at the very top of the slots. I was able to splice in some new maple and restore the laminations. After this will come some new lacquer and top felting. It should now last another 50 years or so 😂

I cannot express my gratitude enough to this incredible team of harp techs I had the honour to work with at One Harp World! Their integrity, knowledge and passion for the harp and our craft as harp technicians left me truly inspired. From presentation sessions, to endless questions, to meeting world class harpists, and caring for harps during the event, I am so grateful to have had this deep-dive opportunity to share, learn and inspire. I have certainly come away a better harp technician in more ways than one, and I hope to bring & incorporate this experience to the work I do in both Australia and abroad.

Here is a perfect example of a sympathetic vibration!!!This D pedal is singing along just perfectly to Middle C. It’s a simple fix. Just tighten the nut infront of the felt just a bit- tight enough to stop the vibration, but loose enough that you can flip it up when traveling! If only vibrations were always this straightforward… 💁‍♀️

Nevertheless!! This is a great example of how sometimes all you need to do, when a sympathetic vibration appears, is just look around and touch random things on your harp to see if anything is singing along. 🙌
