I’ve been working with my good friend & very talented human Fintan Magee to install this beautiful & painstakingly intricate mural for the ✨

Check out the second image to inspect the level of detail involved in this work & and pass judgement on Fintan’s state of mind for painting it at this scale 🤓

“Three Workers” was commissioned by the Department of Premier and Cabinet & is on the Miners Institute in Collie, Western Australia.

Special thanks to Mick Murray & Six Two Three Zero for working so hard to make this project happen!

Amok Island & I have spent the week at CSHS helping students conceptualise & paint their own mural.

We’ve been so impressed by the dedication, creativity & talent shown by the kids here & hope that they’re supported to continue to pursue creative outlets in their future 🧑‍🎨🎨

“The Last Swans” by Amok Island

In the early 1900s Northam's Mayor, Oscar Bernard (a Jewish Russian settler), brought white swans to Northam 🦢 Today, it is the only place in Australia where they breed in the wild.

At one point there were around 80 on the Avon River, but sadly it is thought less than 10 remain.

Huge thanks to FORM for making this project happen; to the Shire of Northam & (David from) MAURI for funding; & Western Power for making it safe (cheers Eddie)!

New completed mural project with Amok Island. Thanks to CANVA for commissioning this piece 💙

‘Koala’ Surry Hills, Sydney 2019

The early start of this year's fire season has already seen five million hectares of New South Wales bushland burned, compared to a total of 280 hectares in the entire fire season last year. Aside from nearly 1000 homes destroyed and 9 people killed, these unprecedented bush fires, fuelled by the effects of climate change, have wreaked havoc on Australia's wildlife.

An estimated 2000 koalas (which were already listed as vulnerable) have been killed. I came to Sydney prepared to paint an artwork of Flying Foxes on this wall, but because of the news and especially after seeing my first wild koala on my way to Sydney, I decided to change the subject. Thanks Canva who commissioned this mural for being supportive. And Thanks to Sherrie Wilson Projects for your hard work.

Canva has made a donation of $60.000 to the Rural Fire Service, who together with volunteers from all over the world, are fighting to contain the fires. If you want to help please donate to the RFS and urge Australia's politicians to take immediate action on climate change.
