2025–2026 Financial Year Wrap-Up

As we close out another financial year, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what has been an incredible year of growth for MK PMC.

What began as a vision to support Aboriginal organisations, Indigenous businesses and communities has continued to grow into a business we’re incredibly proud of.

This year we’ve been privileged to:

🏗️ Deliver more than $3 million in community infrastructure projects across the Northern Territory.

💰 Support clients in securing more than $2 million in grant funding, helping Indigenous businesses and organisations invest in their future.

🤝 Continue delivering project management, procurement, contract administration, advisory and grant writing services that create lasting outcomes for our clients and communities.

🌱 Expand our business capability through investment in our people, technology and equipment.

🏉 Give back to the community by sponsoring local sporting organisations and young athletes, including the Darwin Dragons Rugby Club, and donating washing machines to the Urapuntja Health Service staff accommodation to support essential workers living in remote communities.

None of this would have been possible without the trust of our clients, partners and communities who continue to support MK PMC.

We would also like to sincerely acknowledge Aboriginal Investment NT (AINT) for supporting our growth through the Business Growth Grant Program. Their investment has strengthened our capacity to deliver projects across the Northern Territory and has helped position MK PMC for long-term, sustainable growth.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network(NTIBN) for their ongoing support, encouragement and advocacy throughout our journey. The guidance, networking opportunities and commitment to strengthening Indigenous businesses across the Northern Territory have been invaluable to MK PMC’s growth. We are especially grateful to the NTIBN team for believing in our vision and for creating opportunities that enable Indigenous businesses like ours to thrive. We look forward to continuing to work together to build stronger businesses, stronger communities and a stronger Indigenous business sector.

Building More Than Infrastructure - The Story Behind MK PMC

MK PMC was founded on a shared belief that successful projects are about more than infrastructure - they are about people, relationships, opportunities and lasting community impact.

Behind MK PMC are husband-and-wife team, James and Nurdiah Mayo, whose combined experience, values and commitment to community form the foundation of the business.

Born and raised in Darwin, James Mayo is a proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander man from a large family where culture, connection and community have always been at the centre of life. Those strong family values shaped his passion for supporting others, creating opportunities and contributing to positive outcomes for future generations. His career in health, community engagement and program delivery reflects a lifelong commitment to strengthening people and communities across the Northern Territory.

Nurdiah Mayo was also born and raised in Darwin and is the daughter of parents who migrated to Australia seeking greater opportunities for their family and future generations. Their resilience, sacrifice and work ethic helped shape her values and drive to make a meaningful difference. With a career spanning project management, business management, finance, stakeholder engagement and project delivery, Nurdiah has built a reputation for delivering practical solutions and helping organisations achieve their goals.

Together, James and Nurdiah are raising a blended family of five children and understand the importance of creating opportunities that extend beyond today and contribute to stronger futures for the next generation.

These shared values inspired the creation of MK PMC.

As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-owned business, MK PMC is committed to supporting businesses, organisations and communities through project management, grant writing and business support services that deliver tangible outcomes and long-term value.

Since its establishment, MK PMC has:
• Secured more than $2 million in grant funding for Indigenous businesses and organisations.
• Delivered infrastructure and community projects across remote and regional communities.
• Supported Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to build capability and grow.
• Worked alongside government, health, private sector and community organisations.
• Created opportunities that contribute to stronger communities and sustainable economic participation.

For James and Nurdiah, “Building More Than Infrastructure” is more than a tagline - it reflects the purpose behind everything MK PMC does. It means building confidence, capability, businesses, partnerships and stronger futures for communities, organisations and the next generation.

Because the greatest legacy of any project is not the infrastructure itself, but the impact it creates for the people it serves.

Through strong cost management on the UHSAC Staff Accommodation Project, MK PMC identified surplus funds and facilitated the delivery of an outdoor shade structure for Urapuntja Health Service Aboriginal Corporation.

A simple but impactful addition — creating a functional, shaded space that enhances the accommodation and delivers greater value for community without additional funding.
