The answer you're looking for isn't out there.
You've googled it. You've asked people you trust. You've read the books, listened to the podcasts, taken the courses.
And you still feel stuck.
Not because the answer doesn't exist.
Because you keep looking for permission from everyone except the one person who actually knows....You.
There is a voice inside you that has been trying to tell you something for a long time now.
You've heard it.
In the quiet moments. In the car on the way home. At 2am when you can't sleep. In the split second before someone else's opinion drowns it out again.
That voice isn't anxiety. It isn't fear. It isn't you being dramatic or ungrateful or unrealistic.
That's your inner authority.
And somewhere along the way, through the expectations, the responsibilities, the need to keep everyone else comfortable, you learned to override it.
I know because I did exactly that.
Back in 2015 I knew, internally, completely, without question, that it was time to leave my full time leadership career. I was leading people across the globe for a FTSE 100 company. The title. The responsibility. The salary that felt too safe to walk away from.
So I overrode it.
I pushed aside the voice that was telling me to back myself. I pushed aside the dream of running my own business. I chose the secure pay cheque over the life I actually wanted.
And a short few months later, redundancy. A position I wasn't prepared for, hadn't chosen and couldn't have predicted.
Life had made the decision I was too afraid to make for myself.
And that was only weeks after leaving my old life behind entirely; my husband, my home, pretty much everything I owned.
In the space of a few months I had lost everything the world told me should make me feel secure.
And I had never felt more like myself.
The work isn't finding the answer.
The work is learning to trust the one who already has it.
Because your inner authority has never been wrong about you.
You've just been too afraid, or too comfortable, to listen.
