Have you lost your licence card? Don’t panic! If you’ve lost your card, make sure you report it to the Police Assistance Line within seven days and get an event number. Then all you need to do is apply for a replacement card within 14 days. You can continue to work while carrying your payment receipt and your event number until your new card arrives.

Introducing…the new NSW security licence card! We’ve put together a handy guide of the three current licence card designs you can expect to see and their key features. You’ll see we’ve moved the licensee’s name and signature to the back of the new vertical design in response to feedback.

The new cards will also feature the new Class 1 licence subclasses while the older cards will still have the original subclasses.

The new cards will be issued from the beginning of June 2023 onwards. What do you think of the new design?

Did you know the definition of a crowd controller is changing? It might not sound like a big deal, but it will mean people doing crowd controller activities at a wider range of places will need to be licensed. Wearing your licence card while on shift? Good on you! But did you know you’re also required to produce it for inspection when requested by a member of the NSW Police Force or any person you have dealings with while carrying on any security activity? This applies even if you are exempt from having to wear your licence.
