Excavator Operator / Leading Hand

Join a growing civil construction company with big ambitions.

Geelan Earthworks & Civil is looking for an experienced Excavator Operator / Leading Hand to join our team based in Gundaroo, servicing Canberra, the ACT and Southern NSW.

We're not looking for someone who just wants to turn up and collect a pay cheque. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can think ahead, solve problems on site and wants to grow with a company that's building towards larger road, subdivision and civil infrastructure projects.

About the role

You'll be trusted to:

Operate excavators and other civil plant safely and efficiently.
Run smaller projects independently from start to finish.
Work alongside the Director on larger civil projects.
Read plans and set out work where required.
Lead by example on site.
Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety.
What we're looking for
Experience operating excavators and possi track loaders in civil construction.
Experience with subdivisions, roadworks, landscape, drainage or infrastructure projects.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Strong communication skills.
White Card, asbestos card, voc certificate
Current driver's licence (HR/HC preferred).
GPS machine control experience is an advantage but not essential.
