Some weeks, you just seem to get a run of the same thing…
We see it all the time with roadside breakdowns — a run of batteries, a run of wheel failures, a run of flat tyres. This week, apparently, it was our turn! 😅

In the space of a week, we managed to clock up five tyre dramas across the Wide Bay Towing fleet — one on our big trailer, a steer tyre on the 4x4 truck, and another three across different roadside utes.

Our fleet is maintained constantly and checked regularly, but sometimes no amount of preventative maintenance can stop the unexpected.
Road debris, punctures and sudden tyre failures are just part of spending as many kilometres on the road as we do.

Fortunately, when your team spends their days helping stranded motorists, changing a tyre on the side of the road is hardly unfamiliar territory! 😂

Five tyres, plenty of kilometres, and the wheels kept turning.

Hopefully that’s our tyre quota filled for a while… 🤞

It’s been a seriously busy start to the week at Wide Bay Towing & Salvage!
We kicked things off early this morning with a container shift, and it hasn’t slowed down since. From a classic old truck and a roller, to a mint Audi this afternoon, the variety has been unreal.
And while all that was happening, the rest of the fleet has been just as busy with a Brisbane run, a motorhome recovery in Rainbow Beach, plenty of local towing, and a couple of accident recoveries thrown into the mix.
No two days are ever the same in this job — and that’s exactly how we like it.
Whether it’s a prestige car, machinery, a truck, motorhome, container, breakdown or accident recovery, we’ve got the equipment and the crew to get it moved safely.

Another full load heading south!
This morning we’re Brisbane-bound with another triple load on board — making it two triple loads in just two days.
It’s been a busy run of long-distance transport work lately, and jobs like this are exactly where having the right equipment makes a difference. Three vehicles loaded safely, secured properly and moved in the one trip.
Whether it’s one vehicle or a full truck load, local or long-distance, the Wide Bay Towing team is ready to get it moved. Our fleet is set up for everything from everyday vehicle transport through to specialist and heavy towing. �

Fresh look for the big Iveco.

Our newest addition to the Wide Bay Towing fleet is now officially wearing its new livery, and we reckon it has come up pretty bloody well.

Now that we’ve had the truck back in town and had a proper look over it, we’ve also discovered the tray is actually a massive 9 metres long, paired with around 12 tonnes of carrying capacity.

That gives us some serious capability for moving everything from cars and 4WDs through to machinery, light trucks, motorhomes and loaded 20ft shipping containers.

It’s another big step forward for Wide Bay Towing as we continue investing in equipment that lets us take on bigger, heavier and more specialised jobs across the Wide Bay and beyond.

You definitely won’t miss this one out on the road.

Did you know we also have our own mechanical workshop?

Behind Wide Bay Towing is Howard Motor Repairs, our fully equipped mechanical workshop in Howard.

This afternoon our new Iveco tilt tray was in the workshop for a full service and check-over before settling into regular work with the towing fleet.

One of the big advantages of having our own workshop is that our trucks are maintained in-house. We know how important reliability is when you’re operating a 24/7 towing business, so keeping on top of servicing, inspections and repairs is a huge priority for us.

And it’s not just our own fleet we look after.

Howard Motor Repairs provides servicing, repairs, diagnostics and mechanical work for cars, 4WDs, light commercials and trucks.

So if you know us from Wide Bay Towing, now you know where our trucks disappear to when they’re due for some TLC.

We get to tow some pretty cool vehicles and end up in some pretty cool places doing what we do.

This weekend has been a perfect example of just how varied life at Wide Bay Towing can be.

From a beautifully restored classic pickup, to a trike and teardrop camper, and even a run across to K'gari — no two jobs are ever the same.

That’s one of the things we love about towing. You never quite know what the next phone call is going to bring, where it will take you, or what will be sitting on the tray by the end of the day.

What a week for Wide Bay Towing!

After a flight from Brisbane to Perth and around 5,500 km on the road since Monday, our newest truck has finally made it home to the Wide Bay.

And if you’re wondering about the very dirty little Hyundai sitting on the back — there’s another new addition to introduce as well.

We recently picked up two new Hyundai Venues to join the HMR loan car fleet, and rather than freight them home from Perth, we decided to make an adventure out of it and drive them across the country ourselves.

After thousands of kilometres, a few interesting “shortcuts”, plenty of dirt roads and an accidental rally stage, both little Hyundais performed brilliantly and well and truly earned their place as loan cars.

The trip eventually brought us to Wagga Wagga, where we collected the newest addition to the Wide Bay Towing fleet — our Iveco Eurocargo tilt tray, fitted with an 8.5 metre tray and 12-tonne carrying capacity.

Naturally, the Hyundai's became the Iveco’s first backload for the trip home.

We stopped at Moonie to unload one car so it could continue north to his destination, then pointed the Iveco towards the Wide Bay.

Late last night, after one seriously big week, we finally rolled back into home territory.

5,500 km, two new loan cars, one new heavy tilt tray and plenty of stories along the way.

The Iveco will now be getting cleaned up and branded before joining the fleet properly, and we’re very excited about the extra capability it brings to Wide Bay Towing

Another big step forward for Wide Bay Towing.

We’ve just picked up the newest addition to our growing fleet — an Iveco Eurocargo tilt tray from Wagga Trucks.

With an 8.5 metre tray and 12 tonne carrying capacity, this truck gives us a heap more capability for larger and heavier transport jobs, including machinery, commercial vehicles, trucks and equipment.

It also means we can now transport loaded 20 ft shipping containers, giving our customers another option for moving containers without needing to organise separate crane or heavy haulage arrangements.

This truck is going to fill a really useful gap in the fleet and allow us to take on an even wider range of jobs throughout the Wide Bay and beyond.

A big thanks to Callum and the team at Wagga Trucks for making the process so easy.

Now for the long trip home to Wide Bay. We’re looking forward to putting this one straight to work.

Today our team was busy transporting a couple of big rigs too and from different dealerships, including this 8m long motorhome and a big Silverado.
