Congratulations Trevor.
Ogilvie Jennings is proud to announce that Trevor McKenna, Senior Associate and well respected Family Lawyer has been elected President of the Law Society of Tasmania for the 2020 / 2021 term. Trevor is a family and relationships lawyer and undertakes court appointments to represent the best interests of children in the child protection jurisdiction.
Having been on the Council over the last 5 years Trevor has the experience necessary to effectively achieve the goals and objectives of the Society. Some of the area’s Trevor is hoping to focus on includes;
• Continuing his work (in partnership with FLPA) advocating for the replacement of Federal Circuit Court and Family Court judges following their retirement. In particular he is keen to see appointments from the Tasmanian profession.
• Engagement with State and Federal Government and other key stakeholders in relation to the Burnie Court and Launceston Family Court relocation's.
• Improving services for the vulnerable, particularly children and families involved in the child protection system.
We want to congratulate Trevor on this well-deserved recognition of his work with the Law Society of Tasmania and the the Legal Profession generally.
