Hi everyone,

We just would like to thank those who came to our Space2Chat event last Wednesday, but also those who are interested and supportive. We had a wonderful time.

We certainly welcome any feedback, even if you just tell us which days of the week that are your preference for future events. So far, we have just chosen dates that work best for us, but if you are interested in coming along and you have limited availability, please let us know what days suit you better. Please also let us know if you have any suggestions for different venues that we could consider.

We would like to thank those who came along to our event on Thursday but also everyone who shared it around their networks. We had some great discussions about the barriers that are preventing us to connect with each other and how to start breaking down these barriers.

Thank you for your support. Could you please comment below with your preference of days of the week and times for future events. We are currently gathering information as we would like to hold the events at times that suit most people.

Calling all AAC users, people who do not have any formal communication methods, those who have communication difficulties, or anyone who takes a long time to communicate…

We are Space2Chat, a new business venture in Hobart and we aim to bridge communication gaps and make people feel heard. We are aiming to host a number of events in cafes around the greater Hobart area in 2025. These events will focus on giving people who use AAC a place to come and just chat. They will hopefully form a unique community where friendships can be built, patience is the key, and tips are given around best practices of AAC. AAC users, support workers, and those interested in AAC use and its benefits are all welcome.

We know this is short notice but you are warmly invited to Space2Chat’s first event next Monday, the 21st October 2024 at the Rivulet Café, South Hobart between 10am and 12pm. Come along and get to know us and participate in the event.
