If you’re like many of us, the end of the year is always when burnout creeps in. With the change of seasons, and the holidays approaching, it’s important to take a pause and rest.

Rest isn’t slacking, it’s recharging. You’ve accomplished more than you might give yourself credit for! Take time to reflect and allow yourself to slow down.

It’s normal to feel a mix of emotions such as nostalgia, joy, guilt, or even loneliness. Rather than suppressing, let yourself feel what you feel. This time of year is not always easy and many of us may be facing challenging feelings.

Practice self care and the healthy habits that make you feel your best, such as family get-togethers, exercise, or journaling. Really unplug from work and protect your downtime. The holidays are the perfect time for this. It helps you refresh so you can return to work more focused than ever!

Loneliness has been called a silent epidemic, affecting many of us differently.

Here’s your reminder that meaningful human connection goes deeper than a like or a text. Allow yourself to stay open to new experiences.

Reconnect with friends or colleagues by reaching out to someone you haven’t spoken to in a while. You might be surprised how it positively affects the two of you!

Join a community. Whether it’s a book club or a soccer team, try putting yourself out there with those who share your interests.

Self care! Feeling connected starts with being kind to yourself. Journaling, meditation, or even simple daily gratitude exercises can help you feel more grounded and less alone.

Trust your loved ones. Many people experience loneliness, and confiding in someone you trust can help you deal with these feelings.

It’s natural to crave connection, and loneliness isn’t always easy to combat. Small, intentional actions can and do make a difference. Be patient with yourself and others! And remember to step outside your comfort zone.
