Entries are now open for the 2024 Jakes Steel & Welding Rejex Classic Rally!
This year’s event will start in Darwin on Saturday 3 August 2024, travelling to Batchelor to stay at Litchfield Outback Resort for the night of Saturday 3 August, and then returning north before going east out to The Bark Hut on Sunday 4 August.
Both venues have set aside a number of rooms and campsites for Rejex participants, so rooms may not appear available if you use their booking websites. Please call them and indicate that you are on the Rejex Classic Rally when you make your booking to get access to a room. Ensure you register your entry for the Rejex before booking accommodation.
Entry is $160 per person and this includes stickers for the vehicle registered to participate, an event shirt, lunch & dinner on both days and breakfast on Sunday. If you are bringing infants or young children (e.g. aged five or under) and providing their food yourself, you do not need to register them. Additional shirts are available for $45 each.
There are two entry options for 2024:
• Competitor – Rejex Rally: Traditional entry option includes all driving tests, so requires a Motorsport Australia licence (persons aged twelve and up). Licences will be available for $30 at scrutineering and driver sign-on.
• Attendee – Rejex Classic: This option has been introduced for anyone who wants to bring their vehicle on the Rejex Rally, spectate at the driving challenges and join the social fun. You will not be eligible for any awards and may not participate in driving tests, so you won’t need a competition licence. Route instructions will include details for the navigational challenge, so there will still be some activities to keep you busy on transport stages.
When you register as a “Competitor – Rejex Rally”, you can also include details of your crew members and indicate that they are not competing as drivers. Non-driving crew members in the “Competitor – Rejex Rally” option do not require a licence, but are eligible for team awards, e.g. Best Presented.
Whilst the “Attendee – Rejex Classic” option has been added, please note that the Rejex Rally is a touring event with some fun driving tests. Some of these are motorkhana-style courses, but it is entirely for the driver to determine how easy they would like to drive the course. Changes have also been made in recent years to better level the playing field between cars, placing the emphasis on driver and navigator ability rather than vehicle performance. You are encouraged to register as “Competitor – Rejex Rally”, but if you have doubts, the “Attendee – Rejex Classic” option is available.
During transport stages we will be using public roads, so only persons with a valid NT or equivalent drivers licence may operate the vehicle at that time. All vehicles (including trailers) must have valid road registration. It is intended that all participating vehicles are driven throughout the event, and points may be deducted for not making a genuine effort to do so.
