After recently making a surprise visit to our local Maccas drive-thru in Ripley, we’re starting to think they weren’t after burgers…

Thank you to our regulars for holding the fort while myself (Rachael) and a few others were away attending to urgent matters.

🌫️ Fun Fact Friday — with thanks to AJS Services!

Did anyone else notice the fog sitting over South Ripley yesterday morning?

It was incredibly dense, with visibility reduced right through parts of the area — reaching up to around the 290-metre mark.

So, what actually causes fog?
Fog forms when the air temperature drops to the dew point. When this happens, water vapour in the air condenses into millions of tiny water droplets that become suspended close to the ground — creating what looks like a low-lying cloud.

And when there is little to no wind, that fog has nowhere to go, so it can become extremely dense, just like what we saw yesterday.

A great little reminder that even the weather can give us something interesting to talk about!
