Researchers from Western Sydney University are looking for people living with relapsing and remitting MS to participate in a study on the neural mechanisms of pain.

During the study, participants will be asked to provide a blood sample, complete a survey and describe their response to various mechanical and thermal sensory tests.

By combining blood collection with answers to the survey and sensory tests, the researchers aim to understand better the molecular basis of MS and its management.

Participants will receive $25 at the end of their session to thank them for participating.

One of our hardest working clients Murray is completing this challenge for the second year in a row to raise funds for mental health. We are so proud of Murray's dedication and if you have a few spare dollars a donation will go a long way to raise much needed funds for mental health services and initiatives.

Help raise funds for much-needed mental health services and initiatives by donating to my page. I’m completing The Push-Up Challenge to support this great cause and would love your help to reach my fundraising target.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day πŸ’—

Ben, who has Down syndrome, joined the NDIS during early trials in the Hunter region of New South Wales in 2014. This was the beginning of a more meaningful and independent life for Ben.

Ben had a desire to learn how to 'pull a beer' and with the help of his support workers, completed a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course and scored a job at the Happy Wombat.

Ben loves working at the Happy Wombat and thinks he now pulls a pretty good beer!

Researchers from Western Sydney University are looking for individuals with relapsing remitting MS to participate in a study examining the neural mechanisms of pain.

The study will involve meeting with the researchers once every 3 months for 1 hour over a 2-year period to investigate molecular changes in the disease.

What to expect from each session:

- Collect a venous blood sample (5-10 mins)
- Survey completion (10-20 mins)
- Share your responses to a range of mechanical and thermal sensory tests (10-20 mins)

A detailed project overview and survey explanation will be provided before you start.
