Thereās something about the eve of Anzac Day that makes you pauseā¦
Not just to rememberābut to really feel the weight of the stories that have been passed down through families.
Iāve grown up hearing them.
My mumās dadā¦
swapping places in the trench for a cigaretteā¦
only to watch his mate lose his life moments later.
A great uncleā¦
who carried more than anyone could seeā¦
and eventually couldnāt carry it anymore.
And you start to wonderā
how much can one person hold?
The trauma.
The loss.
The things they saw⦠that weāll never fully understand.
Yet because of themā¦
we get to come home.
We get to sit around the table with our families.
We get to build businesses, communities, and lives that feel safe.
Thatās not something I take lightly.
As an ambassador for The Rising Sun Charitable Trust, Iām reminded that remembrance isnāt just about looking backā¦
Itās about how we show up now.
How we support those who are still carrying the impact of service.
How we create connection, understanding, and community for those who need it most.
Lest we forget.
If this message resonates, take a moment tomorrowā¦
not just to rememberābut to reach out, check in, and connect.
