Over the past weeks, we’ve been analysing discovered evidence alongside known circumstantial information relating to Jack McLennan’s disappearance. By combining these data points, we’ve developed a geographical heat map identifying areas that may warrant further search activity and investigation.

Now we need to get boots on the ground in Queensland.

Your donation will help cover travel, accommodation, equipment, and the practical costs involved in conducting field work and examining these newly identified locations. Every dollar goes towards giving us the opportunity to follow the evidence, test theories, and continue searching for answers.

If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this post. Sometimes the most valuable contribution is helping it reach the right person at the right time.

Jack is not forgotten. We are committed to following every lead we can, and with your support, we can take the next step forward.

Today my heart has been with every rider, owner, groom, trainer, family member, and most importantly, every horse affected by the horrific incident reported at the NBHA Las Vegas Show.

As both an animal lover and someone who works within the fields of criminology and violence awareness, I struggle to find words strong enough to express the sorrow, disgust, and anger I feel reading that horses were stabbed while standing helplessly in their stalls. Reports indicate that multiple horses were injured, with one suffering catastrophic wounds in what appears to have been a deliberate act of extreme violence.

At Exhuming the Truth, we often discuss violence, victimisation, and community safety. One reality that cannot be ignored is that serious animal cruelty is not simply an “animal issue.” Research has repeatedly shown links between animal abuse and other forms of violence, including domestic violence, child abuse, sexual offending, and serious interpersonal violence.

The FBI has formally recognised animal cruelty as a significant offence and tracks it within its national crime reporting system because of its established links to broader patterns of violent behaviour. (LEB)

Studies have found that animal cruelty can be a predictor or co-occurring factor in violent crimes against people, making it an important community safety issue as well as an animal welfare issue.

When someone is capable of inflicting this level of suffering on a defenceless animal, it raises serious concerns that extend far beyond a single incident.

My thoughts have been with the affected horses and their people all day. I cannot begin to imagine the trauma of walking into a barn expecting to see your horse safe, only to be confronted with something so horrific.

Violence against animals should never be minimised, excused, or dismissed as a lesser crime.
A compassionate society is measured by how it protects its most vulnerable both human and animal.

I received a message from the Gilbert family alerting me to the fact The Chaos Chronicles had used some of my audio from our first episode for Luke Gilbert and we are so grateful that people are actually listening to this episode for the first time still. If you haven’t heard our episode one and two for Luke Gilbert I strongly encourage you to have a listen, even if you’re not on our side of the fence, maybe this might change your mind about what you thought you knew.
Anyway, a big thank you to The Chaos Chronicles for crediting us and sharing this very important case.

Police can confirm a member of a search team has today located what are believed to be human remains in the EagleHawk Tier area in Underwood in Northern Tasmania.

Inspector Aleena Crack said the person had been searching the area as part of continuing public search group efforts to locate missing Scottsdale man, Peter Willoughby, who was last seen in Hollybank area on 5 October 2025.

“Forensic testing is yet to be completed, however at this stage we can confirm the remains appear to be an adult human male” she said.

“The volunteer contacted police immediately after the discovery, and officers from the Northern District, along with specialist forensic personnel, are attending the scene.”

Inspector Crack said Mr Willoughby’s family was notified this afternoon.

“We understand how distressing this development may be for his loved ones, and while everyone involved hopes it will help to provide answers, formal forensic analysis is required before we can determine whether the remains belong to Peter.”

Our thoughts are with Mr Willoughby’s family and loved ones. A report will be prepared for the coroner.

A quick reminder about what Exhuming the Truth is, and what it isn't.

This community was built to encourage discussion, learning, critical thinking, victim advocacy, crime prevention, and respectful debate. People here come from all walks of life, with different experiences, qualifications, and perspectives.

What matters most is not the letters after someone's name, or their social status, but how they engage with and treat others.

Having credentials, degrees, professional experience, or specialist knowledge can certainly contribute to a conversation, but it does not place anyone above anyone else. Every member of this community deserves to be treated with respect, whether they are a researcher, a practitioner, a victim, a family member, or simply someone seeking to learn.

We welcome differing opinions and constructive discussion. We do not welcome personal attacks, attempts to belittle others, assumptions about people's motives, or behaviour designed to shame members of our community.

The purpose of Exhuming the Truth is not to create an echo chamber. It is to create a space where people can discuss difficult issues, ask questions, challenge ideas, and stand up for what they believe in while remaining respectful of others. If that approach aligns with your values, you are welcome here.

If your goal is to argue, insult, intimidate, or talk down to people because you believe your credentials make your opinion more important than everyone else's, then this community is probably not the right fit for you.

We will continue focusing on what matters most: informed discussion, community awareness, crime prevention, victim advocacy, and respectful conversation. We remain firm on having a zero tolerance for bullying to other members and to staff via direct message or otherwise.

Asha
